Hilts

I farmed the first week, nothing but the otehr random epics dropped (and I am kicking myself I didnt just go crazy that first night with trash farming but the stability issues were too much). Including two leather bracers in the same pack, then another leather barcer not 5 minutes after that... sigh. I don't farm any more but if I get any of the ICC 5 mans in the random I do clear all trash just in case. I am about to switch to gold farming mode and simply buy them for the toons I want them on. Hilt price on my server is sitting around 15k. Of course I have another batch of toons that will need epic flying soon. $$$

For a Prot pally? Is it worth it?

I was lucky to get one on the first day of patch, next 3 however were all bought at AH for 10 000 - 18 000. Now all my characters on main account has their hilt. Definitely better AND faster than farming it yourself. The fun thing is, I have the spent money back in 4 days via AH trading.

there is no tanking weapon from the hilts (unless your a feral tank than maybe)

Just FYI, in ICC10 man there are two swords that drop regularly. So if you are saving up for a hilt for a 2h sword, save your money and just go in a PuG raid.

I got one so far but since the drop rate is so low I might as well play the national lottery.
I still run FoS each day since it's the easiest for me but that's about it (needless to say my hilt dropped when I was doing FoR the other day ;) )

I got 1 yesterday for my group. Seen it once in a non-boxing group the day 3.3 was released. Lost the roll though. Totally not worth farming just this thing (not getting badges). Plus the 2h sword looks super small. It is like a 1h sword, not my kinda weapon.

I'm determined to get one. I'm not in a rush though.
I usually port into POS (Heroic) if the random gives me something crappy.
I can clear 70% of the trash in there before my 15 minutes is up.

As a side note, a guild mate saw two drop in a random FOS run yesterday. Typical.

I got one for my Ret Pally PVP spec that I play solo with. No other reason I would want more except for getting the caster version for my PVP shaman team. Other then that I would sell them if I see them drop but I'm not farming it any longer

My question is:

PvE gear changes really fast and what is today one of the top weapons is almost like in 2-3 months 4th+ best weapon. When it's a drop no question about it of course but when it costs +10k it makes me think twice;

What is in your opinion the "longevity" of a weapon like this one? Won't it for example just be outdated by the new 1.8k rating weapons? I say this because even if normally if you don't think you'll get that rating, you pay at the most 2k to someone to boost you in 2s.

What do you guys think?
