Im 90% sure its your macros, your gear is bad but your focusing on the right things. There is nothing to say about your spec either so you should def work on your macros.

Ok, so I tried the macro posted by Fursphere last night. It definitely made a difference. In the few Heroics I ran last night, they averaged around 1700 DPS, after some fights it would be as high as 2000.
So here is my armory for each:

Drothan: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...ther&n=Drothan

Crothan: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...ther&n=Crothan
I mostly focus on Spellpower/Crit with gear, but also end up getting alot of Hit/Haste also.
Your hit rating is too low. Shamans need 79 hit rating to never miss with their spells in heroics.Quote:

As for your macros, spell rotations highly depend on your latency. My ping is usually at about 250 to 300ms. Am getting the best DPS with pure lightning bolt (with the random chain lightning for larger packs) spam. I've tried a lot and can't justify using any kind of FS/LvB spellrotation. Sad but true.
Which of the macros did you end up using (there is a zillion in the thread - I ended up with a few variants (including removing some /use etc... because somehow it makes my dps go lower...))
Hit rating is like the bane of my existence on my shamans. I swear, their is like zero gear that has decent hit rating on it unless I go with cloth or a blue where I already have an epic. Most heroics, during trash pulls, my pally outdps' my shaman, but half of that is because my pally's prot set is Naxx25/Ulduar10. During boss fights, or at the very least sustained dps fights, I'm capping around 2500. One of the things I realize is that since I'm not taking "single" healer, the dps across the board is going to be lower, but ultimately will be increased by the 4th dps in the group. So, pulling 4x shaman with each of them at ~2500 dps = 10k dps, which is the equivalent of a normal group having 3 dps'ers doing 3.3k dps (give or take).
Lack of DPS is rarely ever a problem in any of the heroics that I'm doing, even if my dps is low.
I ended up ditching chain lightning cause of the mana usage.. Slightly higher dps is fine but when you have to drink 2-3 times more an entire instance, doesn't seem worth it.
I don't have the flame shock glyph either because i dropped it for glyph of thunder. So the /castrandom macro probably wouldn't work for me.
Mine is /castsequence flameshock, lava burst, lightning bolt x4
I'm pretty happy with it none the less
I actually get mana issues myself during boss fights or pulls of 4 or more. I just assumed it was a gear issue, but I hear slot of boxers say their Shamen never go OOM. So what am I doing wrong? I keep a mana totem up most of the time.
are you refreshing watershield like a fiend?
I'd say I refresh it every 5 minutes, or whenever I notice the orb not floating around the Shamen.
Hrm. Well, between Mana Totem (or Blessing of Wisdom), WaterShield and Judgement of Wisom I have a really really tough time running OOM while nuking/healin.
