Windower is a freaking GODSEND. Go, go unlimited macro space!
This is what I loved about FFXI. While in most "XP" parties, whm and rdm melee wasn't used, when you went out on non-"XP" content, WHM's and RDM's could go crazy. Hell, one of the WHM's I used to play with hit harder on his WHM with Hexastrike than a lot of end game classes. RDM's were the best solo class in the game. Hell, their was a JP RDM that solo'd stuff that groups of 20+ wiped on. Solo'ing KS 60's and even freaking Gods. He was pretty damn good (and lucky).Quote:
I've always thought RDM and WHM got side lined to pocket healer a bit more than I would have liked to have seen.
If I wasn't so dang busy with my team and my main and ulduar wiping, I would totally go back and re-up my 4 accounts and maybe toss in 2 more and see where that got me. I used to be intimidated by running more than 2-3 characters at a time even though I got 3 boxing down to an artform in that game. I would think I was crazy to try out a full 6 person group. Now though, yeah... I could totally see it.
PLD/NIN, SCH/WHM, RDM/NIN, BLU/NIN, BLM/WHM, SAM/WAR
War -> 30 -> Unlock PLD -> 74 -> Unlock NIN -> 37
Whm -> 30 -> Unlock SCH -> 74
Blm -> 30 -> RDM -> 74 -> Unlock NIN -> 37
War -> 30 -> Unlock BLU -> 24 -> Unlock NIN -> 1/2+ BLU lvl -> 75
BLM -> 30 -> WHM and RDM -> 1/2 BLM lvl -> BLM 75
War -> 30 -> Unlock Sam -> 75
That doesn't include any missions or quests or rep. You have a lot of work ahead of you lol. It will be a fun journey.
Or you could blow everything out of the water and go like this ...
WHM-> 30 -> Unlock SMN -> 75
x6
There's a trick going on currently where you lvl sync a party of summoners to lvl 10 and go to korroloko tunnel, have a high lvl aggro basically the whole zone and bring it back to you. All 6 smn's then blow their 2hours and kill everything. It ends up giving you like 75k xp which takes you 10-18 in about 10 minutes. Granted, you can only do that once every 2 hours ... but that's faster xp than most end game high end xp parties by a mile lol.
Well, I got to level 10, and I have to say, its been an interesting exercise thus far. The way follow works with melee is amazing. Made about 50-60k Gil from crystals, and I hit about 5k/hour for xp at one point. Granted I have no clue if that means anything at this point, because I haven't soloed in so long, and I'm still learning about a large number of leveling stuff that has changed since I last left, namely Field Manuals I mean, 5k could be pathetic now. I just don't know.
What I do know is that even with low Ts, EMs, and DCs, I can mow through them like they're not even there and rake in XP by virtue of fast kills. Things may change once I get out and about in the world, but for now I remain hopeful. Hell, I played this game during the glory days of 2k being a good party and XP/level jumping through the roof at 50+, so nothing can be THAT bad.
Pics or it didn't happen. :whistling:
Further observations, I'm now tackling Toughs in Meriphaut Mountains (I think that's right, the zone with the Mea Crag) without breaking a sweat at level 13. That's an improvement over the occasional T I was dealing with earlier. Should hit 15 after a few training regimes and my empress bands tonight, at which point its off to level the jobs I'm going to take to 30. (Reminder, go buy more 2 handed Axes) I have to say, this game is freaking FUN when you do things at an appropriate level and have a party on hand for all of it.
It is a bit intimidating with how much stuff I have to do. Need to grind rep, get my gobbie bags started, get my subjobs, unlock my advanced jobs, get my chocobo license.... the list just goes on and on. I'm going to be busy with this for at least a year, which is nice, because the whole reason I jumped ship again was because there wasn't much left for me in Wrath.
Oh, one thing, some of the quests in this game SUCK. Some offer awesome rewards, most offer a catchy tune and less money than it took to complete. Totally remembing why I stuffed those sheep in Selbina with Corn and Cabbage.
My TP generation isn't quite where I was hoping it would be, and it's making me notice what is going to be an inevitable problem in the future, namely that my WHM and RDM are going to be more or less out of the out-and-about skill chain rotation, as while their melee hits do fair damage, they end up being sluggish in TP generation. On the other hand, with a SAM and a BLU in the group, I have a wide range of skill chains I can form, so instead of 1 hugely long skill chain, I'll probably just set up multiple small ones. Of course, on boss fights and such I'll probably still plan out a hugely long skill chain, but that has more to do with how the fight mechanics work and how generally you WANT to end those as fast as possible. Certain exceptions of course, in the case of bosses who use nasty aoe at a certain percentage of hp
Six months ago i was searching about FFXI MB. I left the game 2 yrs ago and i was using 2 accounts, (mostly my 75 RDM as PL) I dont know how u can handle those 6 accounts bc im pretty sure that my machines cant handle more than one and my broadband will drop with 6 at the same time (sometimes i was getting lag with only 2 at the same time) About the hammer ban, be careful bc Square is very strict to his TOS and FFXI Windower its illegal ( http://www.ffxi-gil.info/ffxi-windower.html ) Lose one toon in WoW its not the same pain as lose one FFXI toon. Anyway "Grats" on that archivement and let us know more info bc like others i only left that game for the lack of partys. MB that game could be a dream to me ^^
" [Multibox][FFXI][Can i have it?][Yes, please] " :D
I think to properly multibox FFXI you need to have one computer for each character.
Yeah, I run one client per box. I've heard tales of people with 2-3 clients running.
So... even with that windowing program that windows FFXI, you would not be able to play multiple (a full group of 6 on the same comp?) I don't know if Innerspace will let you box it, or even Keyclone.
I have 4 comps, but I really don't want to have to buy more to play FFXI (should I make that leap)
Well, honestly, I've never tried more than 2 on one comp. The 2 ran fine though. You might be able to run 6 on one. As to what program would work, I have no idea how most of them work. I'd imagine Keyclone would work, though I don't have a license for it so you'd have to ask Keyclone if he's tested it.
