In cases like these (or any other case actually) I'm particularly interested in how you leveled the characters. It's always fun to compare how fast the different methods are :)>Quote:

After 2.3 hit there has never been a better time to start multiboxing, I started an moonkin duo the other day. If you start boxing, try to aim for three characters over two so that you get a party bonus, else the duo will simply split all exp by 50% and it might lag you behind as you go about your quests.
Also, remember this:
Once 58, do the first batch of quests in Hellfire Peninsula for gear, then return and finish off Azeroth, as much of it as you can, even the grey quests! People have reported reaching level 64-65 this way before finishing Hellfire Peninsula, and having unbelievable amounts of gold as a result
Alright.
First of, I made 5 shamans, already had one 70.
I created 4 new draenei shamans, from Lv. 1 to 10, I did most of the starting quests, at the time, none of the gathering quest items one, I wasn't very familiar with the playstyle yet and couldn't loot easily at the time, now that I have more experience, I would probably do them, because I had to grind alot just by killing for exp at the beginning. Just to make sure it's understood, I didn't party with the 70 shaman during that time.
Once I got Lv. 10, I included the Lv. 70 Enhancement Shaman into the party and started doing Deadmines over and over, I didn't loot any corpse, to me it wasn't worth the time stoping for the $/h. I did Deadmines until I believe Lv. 18-19
After that, I went onto Stockades. Stockades is awesome, because it's very close up together with elites only enemies. Enhancement was much better than Elemental spec at that time, less down time (if any) for mana and faster kills. I could make a full run without having to stop for mana ever. Since the instances is so small, I would do 5 runs very quickly and I had to wait for the cooldown on the instance to reset. So I would usually log out or loot stuff on the 5th to supply the enchanting/tailoring of one of my shaman. Then I would log out all the others and level up my profession with the one E/T. Which is why she has currently about a day more than all the others, but I don't really consider it, because I would it while at working (where I cannot dualbox so I would save up all my crafting to do for that time).
I did this until I think Lv. 27ish, then I went to try Gnomeragan. It's a TOTAL waste of time, don't go there. It's wayyyyy too spread out and you walk more than you actually kill stuff.
I spent about 3 min in Gnomer and left. Went to do Library in SM for a few runs, still as Enhancement, without the help of the others. In SM I started looting the stuff for DE and tailoring, sold the items with good stats as per armor. I might have done one level in Library, tried Armory as well, not worth it, just go Cathedral. Cathedral is by far the best place, lots of mobs to kill very quickly, again I did loot stuff in there most of the time. Only in the Cathedral itself though, not outside, I would pull them all to the red carpet and loot them on the way out.
I don't quite recall until when I stayed in there, probably like Lv. 39-40 or some. After that I respeced my 70 shaman to elemental as well as all the others and I started using them in ZF. (Don't go to Uldaman it's also a waste of time). Make sure to check on www.wowhead.com for quests for any instances you go to. Did ZF for a long time, until 45, went to Maraudon a few times, the 2nd part sucks because of the elemental immune to nature damage so I didnt like it as much. Beside, the huge giant in Mara gives the same exp as one elite in ZF so it wasn't worth killing one while I could kill 3-5 in the same time.
I did ZF for a long long time. And now that I can loot back and see what path I took, I would have rather did quests instead, pick up quests aren't that bad, and killing quests are a real joke. If I were to do it all over again, I would probably quest all the way to 70 instead of instancing. (Of course instance a few time as well with all the quests in one go)
After ZF, I might have been like Lv. 47 when I stoped, I went to Searing Gorge for quest and started following the Brian's guide from then on. It went like a breeze, it was so easy and questing is a real joke with 5 toons.
I didn't buy my mount at 40 because I already had Ghost Wolf form which was good enough until I gathered the 2.5k gold to buy all epic ground mount (which I have now yay!). So yeah, kept on questing after ZF up until now, I did do BRD because I was a little bit behind on the guide, I guess because I killed less mobs than I would have had if I was alone. I made sure I had all the quests possible when I went to BRD so I would do it all in one go, I did most of them, because some you would have had to get out and come back which I didn't want to do.
Went to Outland right after I got 59, a little bit over my time I guess, but it was ok, I went through quests very quickly and was a bit short on the guide, so I ran Ramps a few times and BF once, that 2nd boss is really bad IMO. Now I'm in Zangarmarsh 5% to 63 and it's going great.
Important notes
- I did have help of a 70.
- I didn't do any BG up to now (no point really).
- I didn't camp nor grief any horde. For some obvious reasons, 1- I don't feel good about myself after killing some lowbie since I have 5 toons, one of which is 70. 2- Grief horde eventually would have got me several 70 come by and try to kill me and bother me. I wanted to be unnoticed as much as a 5 group with all the same name can go.
- I did also follow a leveling guide(for most of it).
I wasn't actually trying to make "the" best time, it sort of just happened. When I log on it's to level obviously and not just fool around so yeah I got shit done and didn't just sit in IF to show off and talk to people.
Conclusion: It was my first time dualboxing with more than 2 characters, so it did take me a long time to set things up, macros and everything. If I would have really wanted to make the best time ever, now that I have experience I'm sure I would do it "alot" faster over again, but doesn't that go with everything else as well. ^^
Hope this whole blog was of some help to someone, sorry if it sounds incoherent at times, I wrote it in 2 seperate times (now and last night) so I might have lost track of things and didn't want to write back what I already had.

nice post. From your words I see that to have 70 lvl enhancement shaman isnt that cool as to have 70 lvl mage as I do :D
My toons now are lvl 28 and all instances I have done were done like that: pull - aoe, repeat 2 more times. For me it is 1 day 0 hours 51 minutes played - lvl 28.
And I would like to note that gnomeregan is perfect for aoe grind. The start of the instance (main door) sucks, but once you jump down to elementals - it becomes better. And after AOE elementals you can gather crapload of non-elite gnomes and also some elites. At the end, there are alot of elites at final boss' tunnel and they can be easy aggroed just by pulling a mob with ranged weapon from downstairs. He will do all work for you - run to you, gathering every1 on his way. The instance pretty cool, only thing which can bother is that some mobs are throwing nets.
Dniem you forgot to put how long it took. Do /played or /playtime r sum

Sorry, just isn't clear if you mean it's cool to have a 70 or if you mean it's "not" "as" cool as having a 70 mage. IMO, I think both are good, as a mage you have more down time, need to stop for water/food, while as a enhancement shaman I never had to stop so never had any down time, I could just keep running around and kill stuff on the way, without ever having to stop moving. But of course, in situations, it's not "as" cool as a mage.Quote:

Really nice post dniem, rather elaborate :>
I mean as mage you go in instance, aggro half of the instance, kill them in less then 30 seconds, go straight to the end of the instance and grab all remaining enemies and aoe ;) so downtime is only before those 2-3 huge aoe pulls. That must be faster then enhancement shammy.Quote:

I r like this speed, I r happy O.o
Unit, having boosted as both a hunter and a mage, I do agree that the mage is "quickest" but looting can be slower and more annoying. And also, unless the mage is well geared, this advantage dissapears after SM/Uldaman imo. Hunter has proven much quicker at clearing ZF and ST than the mage. Mage now needs to drink after each grp of 6 or 10, but hunter can still pew pew without stopping.
But then again, hunter has epix. Mage has a load of crap gear.
But I'd say up to SM Mage/palla are no doubt the quickest killers (my palla friend can also Aoe the whole of the inside of SM cath, whole wings of Stockades etc). Our record in stocks including looting was 6.5 mins :D
