I play on a PVP server.
I was playing my 3x hunters at lvl 42 in Hammerfall when a lvl 44 hunter who was killing some mobs for a quest stops, looks at me for like 10 seconds, and decides to shoot one arrow. I basically blew him up in 1 second.
Then an hour later I'm questing in Northrend with my DK and DRU (both 75) and watching TV at the same time. Then I hear a mage cast frostbolt, and see this 72 mage trying to kill me. Death grip/pwn. Then a really bad 80 DK tries to kill the same two guys I have an hour later, and I kill him too.
Why people do this I would never understand.

I ask myself the same thing when I toss my group against raid bosses wipe after wipe after wipe.

My druids finally hit outlands a few days ago. My first encounter there was an 80 hunter that killed me team 3 times. To my surprise, when I popped treants on the 4th time, I got him down low enough to where he had to use a potion to keep from dying. After that, he brought in another 80 with him, so I evened the odds and showed up with my shammys. Needless to say, i didn't hit 60 that night due to all the ganking / camping.
Two nights ago, @ 59, I had a 79 hunter try to kill my team, and to my surprise, he was only able to kill 2 of my guys. Right as he landed, I summoned my treants on him, put them on aggresive, threw up 5 insects swarms and 5 moonfires (only 3 swarms, and 2 moonfires actually stuck, the rest resisted), then I targeted 5 hurricanes on him. The biggest difference from the previous night was that I respec'd and put 3 points into brambles and it was actually entertaining to watch as he was getting hit fast enough that he couldn't get many shots off. I need to find a place to host the image as I made sure to screenshot that one.
For a quick test last night, I was doing Gorak (L63 elite with 23k HP) @ L60, and summoned my treants on him. With no DPS on him whatever other than the treants, they got him down to under 5k HP. I still can't believe the damage they put out. On top of that, as of 3.1, they will be immune to aoe, which should make for some interesting arenas. As much as I love my shammys, these druids feel so much more powerful for their level and my gear isn't all that great - i even still have some cloth +SP pieces. I ran ramparts last night with them, and it was so much quicker an easier than when I did it with my shammys, and I didn't even have to go into Bear form. For reference, here's one of my druids: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...Hakkar&n=Larrÿ
The real fun with my druids so far is whenever I see an ally or two, i'll stealth 4 of my guys, then appear to be questing alone. You know the rest of the story. :D
Sorry to derail your post, but as long as they opposing faction thinks they can get a quick gank in, they will try almost every time. They saw you pull Tusker, so they figured they would have a better chance. It never ends. I can't tell you how many times I've been getting ready to pull a world elite somewhere for some quest when there a few ally close, and nearly every time, they will attack. The biggest shocker was when I was doing the quest to open up the Skyguard quest line, there was a warrior hovering above, and shortly after I started the fight, I was in big trouble as I didn't realize that npc would hit my shammys so hard, and right before I died, the warrior dropped down, pulled aggro and tanked him for me. To this day, I still run into him accross the world and make it a point to /wave him.

All the time when I was levelling.
Since the opposing faction can't ask what kind of damage you put out, this must be the alternative, either that or you just get the masochists. :)

Yesterday a lvl 80 DK & Druid thought they'd have fun camping one of our guildies who was questing in Winterspring. So I flew in on my Shammies, and smashed them which gave the guildie in question time to mount up and head back to town.
Now you'd think they would learn their lesson and get the hell outa there, but no - they kept coming again and again. In fact there was enough time for another guidie to come down on his rogues and join the fun. They brought in a warrior (which did nothing to change the outcome) but finally gave up after being killed for the 14th time.
Maybe they just couldn't handle being on the receiving end of the gankstick... 8|
