My guess is this is a very low priority for them at the moment, and it should be. #1 it makes customers happy, #2 it creates more high level characters faster - so more long term accounts. #3 there are many other issues that are much bigger

The problem is that as phrased it says: if it is non-trivial to anyone, then everyone in the group should get bonus exp. Which I don't think is what they meant.
Seeing the effed up grammar may be easier if you look at the condition first, then the result. Bad English FTL.
"Bonus experience should only be granted if the experience is not trivial to anyone in the group"
More like a sentence fragment
"If the experience is not trivial to anyone in the group, bonus experience should only be granted."
Only be granted...? To whom? To what?
The "Only" is what throws it off from being what you described,
"If the experience is not trivial to anyone in the group, bonus experience should be granted."
Which would then imply that everyone (even if they're not RAF'ed) should get bonus experience. The "only" just means someone fragmented a sentence and didn't see anything wrong with it given the context that it's in a RAF FAQ.
Yeah, that's what I said the first time. They halfway said both because they worded it carelessly.
As far as I know, a high level can group with a low level and kill things very quickly.
This results in a lot more kills per hour, but with greatly reduced experience per kill.
With or without RAF, this is how the game works.
With RAF, you level 3x faster (from quests & kills, but not exploration) with or without a higher level in your party.
As in, without a booster the pace is 3x faster then a normal non-RAF group that also does not have a booster.
Or with a booster the pace is also 3x faster then a normal non-RAF group that includes the same booster.
So as long as a low level can gain any amount of experience while grouped with a much higher level toon, boosting will work to some degree.
Even if this mechanic were changed so the low level toon gained no experience at all from kills, boosting would work by completing quests in a fraction of the normal time, instead of doing it in instances.
The more groups i RAF to 60 means the more groups i'll level to 80. this means more play time, longer subs and more income for bliz.
Bump
Has anyone come across any info as to how soon this might be "fixed"?
To the best of my knowledge this still hasn't been "fixed" so keep cracking on while you can :)
I sure will :)
I was just hunting for info on an impending change so if it's coming soon I don't invest any further in this method.
Huh, didn't even know this nerf was incoming. Of course, no idea why they're doing it. At this point, they may as well start handing out level 55s, since low level content has become so redundant.
