I had to go from 1920 X 1200 to your resolution of 1280 X 960 on my non main computers. The lower resolution that we are playing at cuts lag a lot.

i can run 5 wow windows now
before patch i could only run three
im cheerin
I am having the exact same issue.
My CPU used to handle 5 clients with no issue at all now its at like 85-95% cpu usage where it used to be like 50%
I know blizzard added a bunch of new spell graphics and such but still this is a bit ridiculous.
Hopefully blizzard sees a problem vs expecting people to just upgrade the systems.
I am sure with 9 million customers there are going to be a lot of people that were just barely getting by before that have worst issues than I do....
One thing I want to add:
With my amd dual core(2x 3.0GHZ)i had permanently 100% load on the cpu, even before 3.0. Now with the intel q6600(4x 2.4GHZ) and the new graphics card I never saw cpu load going over 40%(don´t know if and when how much the graphics card plays a role here).
So if your pc is struggling running 5 instances of wow and you can identify your cpu as the bottleneck, just go and get a quad core. Even the cheapest(q6600) will increase performance drastically.
Sli is great now with its new drivers that support windowed gaming and multi monitor display, all the slowness is due to cpu power.
you need to play around with CPU affinity, currently i quadbox with a Q6600 and have my main wow seesion with high graphics use cpu 0,1 and rest of the slaves with lowered graphics and view distance(3 of them) share cpu 2 and 3.
Overall my fps with my main window is great stays at 30 in shatt. and 50+ everywhere else. the slaves however stay at 15-25 in shat and 30-40+ everywhere else.

Do you use SLI cards with multiple monitors? I read somewhere that if you have 2 monitors you cannot have SLI cards or even 2 video cards. Seems kinda screwy in the logic?
Is SLI the way to go or just one of the super video cards that is actually 2 in one. I think with the next PC, I will get Quad CPU :D
How can i share the cpu´s ?? I ve a Quadcore too and i am 5boxing. Probably someone can give me little help ??Quote:

You also might want to look at these two threads about dual graphics cards:

Dual cards/monitors, worse FPS?

Its all doable with the new 180.XXX drivers, but main thing for wow(dualboxing) is C P U..... it wants more....... 8o
Also if you're doing dualview only 1 Monitor is accelerated(hence the huge fps drop).
Horizontal span however accelerates all connected screens. <-- what you need to do if your doing dual screens dual vgas sli crossfire(not sure about this crossfire thing with windowed mode)....
