Of the air-cooled solutions, the Ultra 120 is still a better heatsink thermally. See those big, long-ass heatpipe runs? All that wasted pipe length is actually utilized by the Ultra 120. I can't tell you the specifics regarding the thermodynamics of the pipe length but suffice it to say that bigger/more fins closer to the "block" is much more efficient than longer pipe runs. If anyone's really, REALLY interested, I can probably ping one of my old cohorts and get him to write me up something that explains it.
Sorry, air cooling is just so last season. I'm looking into this sort of a solution in future gaming PCs

If that thing is over $3K I wait til the new Intel chips come out. Nonetheless, I was loving the pictures & the idea.Quote:

Looks okay, but why put those lights on it... to much teenager imo :)
Meh, aircooling is so.. boring and noisy.

14cm is a very large, and quite fan.
Sure 800-3000 solutions will be superior.
This will be well under $100 for sure.
That one without a fan might be a winner though, Ill wait for a comparison between the two.
I'm so glad i play on Furs server now, hes so much less grumpy old man in game, i love you fur play more pls need to do out 3 boxer avs =)
This heatsink is nice as it also doubles as a bolt in upgrade for your air cooled Porche or VW
