Personaly I would stick to the mage. Slow spell, improved counter spell, sheep, INSANE dmg(now at lvl 67 with normal quest gear, arcane blast is critting for 3K3 without trinkets..) You got less chars ofcourse, but still... It's very versatile.
Btw, portals ? Free food and drinks?(although I never use it due to mana/heal totems) frost nova for mobs that are running off.... list is endless ;)
Good luck.
woot almost lvl 20 with my shammies, its been slow but im getting there XD
3 bars into 19. i forget whenn is the exp boost 20? or was it 15?
My first 5box team was pally + 4 sham.
For Wrath I'm dropping 2 shaman in favor of a mage and boomkin. In Wrath Shammy lost some synergy and overall dmg. The mage and boomkin dmg combo is crazy (at 60 currently) and staying power is great if talented right. Also the water, int and stats buff, and portals are greatness. Why not go 3 mage, 1 boomkin? Mainly fear of... well fear. Tremor totems own for dealing with that and with the 2.4 patch reducing proc time 2 is sufficient. Grounding totems are also heavenly and well, need heals anyhow so the 3rd mage would have to be a healer of somesorts. I choose shammy > other healers because of totems and chain heal. Sure all other classes have a group heal of some sort now but chain heal is just so crazy efficient because it picks the targets that need healing to bounce to.
well im only 2 boxing lol so my choice is a bit harder XD
Ah, way to read the OP, go me.
Well with 2 you're going to have to rely on 3 others to fill a group. I'd still recommend going mixed class to facilitate this. It's also nice when a piece of loot drops to not have to decide who to give it to most of the time. Plus the whole synergy argument still applies. I think Shaman + Druid for example is > Shaman + Shaman. Prolly need to read up on what stacks now in 3.0, I'm not 100% on that stuff myself.
