Well, I did try a good geared Holy priest at the very start of my career.. and I believe we did quite well.. I think we almost took 1600 with me at about 150 resilience and 600 spell dmg or so.

ahah awesome :D
Im currently running with a geared preist, +2500 heals and 500 resilience.
By far the best healer I have come across yet. Its my usual pallies main toon. I have played with many Dpriests and the biggest difference I can see is that his heals are much more powerful, on par or above what a similarly geared pally does.
If you priest can survive two rogues, they are viable. I have had priests that can't handle one rogue, and I've had others that an handle three. If your priest can handle rogues, its gg. I have had great luck with them.
My big win for the week was against the number 4 team on the bg. He flash heals until he's oom, then drinks up. In one fight he healed for 180k, and yes we won. I look at it this way too, if they are focusing him, they are letting me damage...and I believe Ill win that race everytime. Quadbox FTW.
Can you link his armory, I would love to see his gear, sounds pretty awesome.Quote:

I don't know what to say, other than you haven't been playing with the right disc priest. There is absolutely no comparison, survivability-wise, between then two in pvp. Disc priest will crush holy.Quote:

If you have the chance, spec both holy and then disc and run into a large group of reds in a BG and try to keep yourself alive as long as possible. It should be clear which spec is more durable under focus.
My personal belives is that Disc priest will become the best healer for 4x shamans in WOTLK due to the fact that they get divine hymn (even thought that sleep shares DR with fear??) Add the HeX spell to shamans you suddenly have a heavy CC team with if you setup focus before you charge in.
Divine Hymn: http://thottbot.com/wotlk/s47951
If you manage to cc theyr healers long enough it wont take long to take out a mage even with iceblock.
If you have a skilled discpriest a paladins bubble or a iceblock should be removed within a second.. A good priest KNOWS when he should have his mass dispell ready while a normal one see a paladin bubble then finds the button and removes it.
Now here is how a encounter would look to me.
Get in and get in position while you set focus to 4 different targets that you want hexxed. You wont be able to set focus on druids and rogues since they apparently are stealthed but this can ofc be done in combat pretty easy with proximo once the druid is out. Belive it or not polymorph IS effective against druids even if they can shapeshift out and into caster form its 3 seconds lost and ive been locked down for 9 seconds on my druid this way.
Lets say you meet a setup with warrior, elemental shaman, disc priest, holy paladin and frost mage:
Focus purging from early on and do it ASAP(reason is that once they pop bloodlust/hearoism your priest can mass dispell it right off hopefully with you assisting) You also want the fear ward removed fast from the paladin/priest. Your priest should also be in charge of taking down the grounding totem AND the tremor totem(most importan)
Cant say for sure if Divine Hymn works on ranged casters or not but lets say it does and it can screw up a rush totally. Get behinde the pillar and use it now your out los'ed the priest/paladin and he will have a hard time getting in a mass dispell properly. Hopefully this will fool the warrior and if your lucky the elemental shaman to trinket even thought most good warriors will just wait unless they see a LB loading up. Now trought a though time he can be HeXed and you wont have to worry about the MS effect for a while. The ONLY player who can remove this now is the mage who should be stressed with focused damage and mass dispelling if hes in range and triest to IB! Since you still can move under hex expect to get losed alot but still its nice since he cant damage you atleast and a aoe stun/silence cycle will be totaly broken.
But you still have your priests Pshy scream..
Atleast even thought im crap at explaining the point is to force a trinket/bubble in the first 60 seconds. During the next wave of HEX/Fear most of the team wont have the trinket ready and you should ATLEAST get the priest hexed since the paladin can bubble the second one. He can serve as a good target thought if the mage already IB and is currenlty hexxed.
We dont know how WOTLK end up but atm i realy have strong belives in 4 shamans and a disc priest. Disc priest current weakness is Meele wich ele shamans now can counter with thunderstorm. But with a proper setup on your focus macros you will hex 4 targets with one button.
What worries me thought is the short range off 20 yards wich means non meele most likley wont be in range! :(
totally agree.Quote:

I started 2 days ago with arena's on my priest, like 50 resi, and crap pve healing gear.
I started out shadow (got a warlock partner SL spec), died so fast it wasn't even funny
Respecced holy... well i died even faster even tho i got a few heals off..
I specced disc... We went from 1400 back to 1520 in no-time, i actually manage to kite alot of classes by just burning them and they cant kill me. (except lolstringspamming warriors)
