Eh.. the videocharts on www.tomshardware.com show the 8500GT as one of the slowest cards listed, and the 8400GS isn't even on the list (but I believe is even slower). Even an older card like a 7900GS is quite a bit faster than the 8500GT. The x200/x400/x500 models by nVidia are usually not branded as 'gaming' cards. The mainstream bang-buck cards are usually the x800 models, with the x900, GT/GTX being higher-end. So much of it depends on your monitor resolution and in-game detail. The 9600GT, 8800GT, and HD4850 cards are a great deal for the price.. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy a new gaming machine without at least the level of performance of those 3 mainstream gaming cards.Quote:
