Ya I didn't mean to say Paralysis was a bad talent, but it was clearly overpowered and on top of that they couldn't get it to work right in beta. I'm all for higher spell damage :)

hmm, now I have to choose between astral plane and the increase to lava burst dmg, which will likely be our new dmg dealer..
hmm, I think this splits us, to either Lave burst dmg for pvp, or lightning bolt again.
talent builds:
Lava burst spec, with NS?

or a Thunderstorm build, without Lava burst specs, and no NS.

what do you guys think?
Lava burst spec doesn't have the mana either, since you cant thunderstorm for mana, and theres
ALSO to think about, are Paladins going to still be a preferred healer for 5v5? I see the new druid tier 11 talent and I wonder, because the effect is stronger at first, it makes it a great 5v5 spell. any other thoughts?
Might be a stupid question, but do we think the 6% spell damage effect would stack ?[/quote]Quote:

Wanted to add an update. ToW does still stack with other ToWs. I grouped with two shaman to test it. Also Flametounge totem AND flametoung weapon do stack. So for those of us that have one of our shaman resto.. we can have FTT down with3xToW and all with FTW on.. i go from 780sih spell power to 933 ish.. and the ToWs spell power is % based so it does not show up in your char sheet stat.. I'm guessing it should put me over 1k without doing the math.
Ouch, shaman are taking a serious hit with +spell hit talents in WotLK. I just checked a talent calculator and instead of having 4x ToW for +12% hit, elemental precision for +6% hit, and nature's guidance for +3% hit.. we get elemental precision for +3% hit. That's a big difference for raiding shaman, but it makes being draenei a big plus now with +1% spell hit buffs. In PvE vs bosses (lvl 73), we need +16% spell hit to cap. Currently, that's beyond easy, since elemental shaman should have EP for +6% hit and 4x ToW is 12%. However, we're going to need +spell hit on gear in WotLK. Considering my draenei shaman get +1% spell hit racial bonus, I need to find 15% spell hit all through talents and gear. Elemental precision has been nerfed to 3% spell hit from 6%, so now I'll need 12% through gear, or 152 +spell hit rating... damn.
hmm I'm not too worried about the +hit requirement.. I'd expect them to include it in WotLK gear :) meanwhile I've been thinking of specs >.< and this is just looking too good to be true ^^
ThunderStorm + Ghostwolf Spec
Currently 4 shaman only need 4% hit after laying down 4 totems of wrath, while 5 shamans only need 1% hit. You can make up either of these extremely easily with gear or talents, without even trying my 5 shaman have 3.33% chance to hit from gear alone, at 70 that is just 42 hit rating. The expansion will introduce more of a reliance on hit in PVE but it is acceptable since they are further seperating PVE from PVP gear, a 5 shaman team in PVP gear will no longer demolish equal gear level instances, which is fine by me!Quote:

ToW no longer has the +hit component.Quote:

While the changes in ToW i think are great i would take 6% more spell damage over 3% hit anyday, i seriously doubt that they are going to stack now, for the simple reason that the buff is now raid wide.
as it is this talent has already become considerabley over powered, righgt now i cant off the top of my head think of any other class that gives a buff that increases their spell damage as a % (so this talent really scales now) at all, this is simular to alot of other talents that increases the characters own spell power%, but not a buff and certanly not a raid wide buff.
wouldnt hold my breath on this but we can hope.
I agree, sounds too good to be true, especially raidwide.Quote:

In 5 mans though, skills like Improved kidneyshot raise all damage by 9% and such. Same with the deep BM hunter talent ferocious inspiration, and also warlock talents like Curse of Elements 13% for arcane, fire, shadow. There's a lot of pure dps boosting skills across the board, whether they are listed as spell damage melee damage, crit ect. But then again, stacking would lead to 30% for just 5 shaman so it's not reasonable without a diminishing effect.
