Holy shit. Bliz is definitely trying to push for more new players for the WotLK release (since they'll need to be lvl 70+ to experience it!).Quote:

Look at what this does to a single player at level 70 who was considering multiboxing:
Account #1 uses recruit a friend on accounts #2-5.
Account #1 lvl 70 boosts accounts #2-5's *first* alts through quests and instances for 45 days, earning triple experience on both mobs AND quest rewards. For triple XP, a dedicated player could boost at least *two* full teams to lvl 70 in 90 days.
Account #1 lvl 70 boosts accounts #2-5's *second* alts through quests and instances for 45 days.
Now, since we've gained 8*70 levels (560), divide that by 2 (280), and we can now have *4* more lvl 70's on account #1 for doing no extra work. WTF Bliz! This makes me want to put my 4 alt accounts on hold, recruit myself 4 times, buy 4 more battle chests for $120-160, and spend the next 3 months boosting to end up turning one lvl 70 into *13* lvl 70's. Once I'm done, transfer my 4 shammies on my current alt accounts to the new boosted accounts, and have 5 accounts stuffed with level 70's.
Something doesn't seem right here.. are there some rules we're missing out on? Like a lvl 70 account can only have 1 recruited friend? Or we can only boost to level 35? This seems like a massive exploit waiting to happen..
You can't grant free levels to put someone beyond 60th.
Boosting with a High level will not gain the Exp bonus.

Do normal experience rules apply?
Yes, if a monster is trivial to either player, no experience boost is given.
The details page is swamped and I can't get it to load... Isn't there something in there about not getting triple experience if the mob is grey to any of the players in the group? That would effectively prevent recruit boosting.
*edit - Beat me to it. So we would have to start a fresh group of 5. Still crazy imo.
whoops didn't see the trivial to either character. I guess this is a way to eliminate boosting. I guess questing 1-40 is back baby!!
Maybe they implemented this change so Sam can get all his 26 characters to level 70 faster.
The recruit a friend is just that, to recruit a friend to get them hooked into wow. As experienced players we dread the grind most of the time because we have seen the lower level content so many times already. We would rather boost our re-rolls. But for a completely new player to WoW, they would prefer them to experience the game as it was meant to be, instead of just getting pushed thru to endgame. So They would like you to start new with your friend to make it seem not as painful for the experienced player, but still have the "new feel" aspect to the new players at the same time.
man i used recruit a friend all from 1 account... i wonder if just that 1 is going to get the zhevra
No, read this one.... it should work if the low levels are linked to each other (not to the high level)Quote:

Do I always gain triple experience while I am linked to my recruit?
No, only when you are partied with a character on the linked account and both players are present when slaying the monster or completing the quest. Also, if the two characters are not the same level, only the lower-level character is given the experience boost.
