Seriously. 10% is being thrown around without much evidence to back it up in practice. Considering where elemental shammies usually sit on the raid damage meters, I can't see them doing any serious shammy nerfing for LB/CL and I'd bet that 10% number is overstated. I could be wrong, though. Which is one of the reasons I roll so many groups. While I'm guaranteed to be hit by most any nerf, I don't suffer from one single nerf affecting every toon I have. :P

what does that mean exactly? I don't understand... :S ok so they have stuns and snares.. and will time our dps? but dps is already a value independent of time itself so the service of timing is irrelevant! :P

Each character doing 10% less dmg would be your total group damage going down by 10%.
Reducing the damage by 50% would be like 2 1/2 boxing. Your 5 10% nerfed damage shamans will do an ASSLOAD more dmg than 2.5 shamans.

Example: 5 shamans all 5 do 1000dmg.

5x1000 = 5,000dmg

10% of 1000 is 100 so now all do 900dmg

5x 900 = 4500dmg

4500dmg is exactly 10% less than 5,000dmg not 50%.

5x10% of the total group damage = 50% of 1 shaman, so it would be like 4.5 boxing instead of 5 boxing in terms of damage. If your damage hit 2500dmg then yes you got a 50% nerf but it isn't that way. Math ftw.

OK :

Standard heroic instance group has healer, tank, 3dps each doing 1000 dps on average each. Trash Mob has 30,000 HP. Normal time-to-kill (TTK) is 10 seconds of DPS, this is our baseline.
Elemental Shaman get nerfed to 900 DPS.

In a normal group, one of those DPS happens to be an Elemental Shaman, so the TTK increases to 30000/2900 = 10.34 seconds or a 3.4% increase.

In a 'classic' multibox group, all three of the DPS happens to be an Elemental Shaman, so the TTK increases to 30000/2700 = 11.11 seconds or a 11.1% increase over baseline.

In a 5 shaman group, all 5 DPS is an Elemental Shaman and your TTK increase from 30000/5000 = 6 seconds to 30000/4500 = 6.67 seconds or a 10% increase over baseline.

I don't mind the dps nerf, becuase we get CC in the form of hex. And Hexed mobs don't heal like poly'd ones do! :D

Hex150 Mana 20 yd range
1.5 sec cast 45 sec cooldown

Transforms the enemy into a frog. While hexed, the target cannot attack or cast spells. Damage caused may interrupt the effect. Lasts 30 sec. Only one target can be hexed at a time. Only works on Humanoids and Beasts.

Note the word "may" there - which means its a chance to break on damage like fear.

All i said was that the nerf hurts shaman multiboxers more than the average joe solo shaman, since it's a loss of 10% to each of the multiboxers 5 shaman. It's really not that confusing. If you mistook 10% x 5(shaman) as -50% damage overall, you need to go back to math class.
