Arcane and holy.
I use AE, Holy Nova and Flash Heals. The healing should not be underestimated at this level. A lucky AOE crit means 1 mage gets spiked instantly by 8 elites. I have a lot of healing experience to make up for that part. The reason why I want to share this is because I have been saying for a long time that I will manage without a tank, but people kept saying you will wipe in RFC, then it became SFK, then it became SM, then it came ZF and so on. Yet I am still going strong and hitting 60 this weekend.
Oh and I do not play on a day 1 server. I am filling the top 20-24 highest level spots for my faction on my realm. That puts me high on the top-level tracking addon list so I get a lot of attention from people who use that addon.
Grats to you and Brain on your great progress.
Please report back when you reach cap whether you have similar success on AoEing and finishing the hardest dungeons.
My thought with Mages was that you could maybe iceblock if/as needed if you needed to while healing.
I wish you best of luck and look foward to hearing about cap.
Anyone have a good talent spec for 5 mages? Is arcane or frost the best for aoe killing in open world?
Greetings all and thanks for all the interesting reads!
I need some input in viable comps if possible. So far, I've been bouncing back and forth between 4 warriors/shaman and paladin/priest/3x mages. They are all around lvl 20 give or take a level. As been pointed out previously, the melee heavy comp is pretty dire to run at lower levels and I get bloody frustrated at times when 3 warriors are running off to pull two extra packs.
I have considered going the same route as some others in this forum, namely 4x caster dps and 1x healer. I'm leaning towards 4x locks/ 1x priest, but would like to have a mage at max level rather quickly . Would it be to much of a negative to substitute one of the warlocks for a mage instead --> 3 locks/mage/priest? I can see the utility upsides, but apart from that I'm not sure.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
