Dual Boxing Questions

Hey all! i'm new here and i thought i would explain what i would like to do and see if anyone can help me decide which programs to run what macros to make etc to do what i want correctly.

First i will start with my computer setup:

Q9450 Quad Core

64Bit Vista Affinity on the first istance of wow set to cores 0 and 1 and the second instance is set to 2 and 3

8gb RAM

2 x ATI 3870's

2 x 24" Dell Ultrasharps

Now here is what i want to do:

I would like to dual box in a RAID or Dungeon environment. My main is a Pally Tank and my Alt is an affliction Warlock. I would like to be able to tank with my pally and dps with my lock at the same time in 10 man and 25 man raids, without having to sacrifice the quality of my tanking or my dpsing.

Can anyone let me know a good place to start? Which programs or macros would be good for this setup? I would like to research these programs and set it up for maximum output.

the very first section is the FAQ section which contains links to guides , guide to guides and Faq for Non-multiboxers.

the guide to guides I strongly recommend, Vyndree went to a lot of effort with that one to make the new boxer's life (and old timer's tempers) as easy as possible :)

Unfortunately, as with most niche communities, your experience here will be largely determined by you. The more you put into this hobby, the more you will get out and the more people will willing to help. Due to the huge amount of effort people have taken to document things don't expect to be lead through the process by the hand, most members here will expect you to have researched first, both on these forums and the wiki or the various blogs.

I hope you like tinkering because it is rare for a multiboxer to ever be finished with their interface :)

For New Multiboxers

Use cores 0 and 2 for the first instance and Cores 1 and 3 for the other instances. This works better because of how the chip is laid out and shared resources between those cores.
