Hunter Macros / Help?
Hi, im pretty new to this stuff, started 3-boxing three hunters two days ago. They are at level 9 at the moment :D.
So, my question is, what kind of macros should I use on my hunters ?
I use atm macros like
/assist <Mainchar>
/cast <whatever i want to cast>
is this a _good_ way or could I do it somehow better?
Should I use focus target or Partyleader assist function, since if my Main dies, I cant do anything on my slaves... So should I change the macros to assist Partyleader instead of the same character all the time?
EDIT: one more question :P
Could someone show me the macro for (all the hunters take turns on these, spellrotation?)
casting hunter's mark (taking turns)
always putting pet in (no matter what client)
and using pet growl (taking turns)

Not being so very macro savvy, but does PartyLeader work for a macro target ?
I do exactly as you do -- I create
/assist party1
/cast SpellOfInstantWin
but would be in trouble if Party1 died -- or wasn't my Toon, say, if I
grouped with someone else. I'd have to rewrite all my macros for that
occasion.

I read somewhere here that instead of assisting your main, just select their target. That way you don't accidently attack something you shouldn't. This actually happened to me when I first started using an /assist macro. XR was getting raped by allies and I targeted a pally to /veto him and my clones all attacked him, lol.
I think I use this, since I can't figure out how to make one line to it.
/target filrean (my main)
/target targettarget
/cast facemeltingomgdeathspell
I haven't played a hunter past level 30, but from I remember I think my buddy used this macro in raids.
/cast AutoShot
/cast gogetbeer
/take all equippable loot
:P

But what happens if Filrean dies? Then "target of target" will fail.
There has to be some elegant/simple way to target/assist the "leader"
-- or, maybe that would fall under the heading of "automation" and
therefore not be available.
If "partyLeader" was valid -- and "the current leader" dies -- does "Leader" change?

Yeah, that is a different problem. My point was to not assist your target, rather to target his target. I have no answer for my tank dying, other than falling back on my old system. I have a focus main system with the macros still on my clones' bar. If Fil dies I hit F3 (this selects my other pally, my healer) then I push F6 (this sets him as everyone's focus) then I use my second target/nuke/heal macro. Not a perfect, or even a good system, tbh. I have been wanting to delve into the No-focus manifesto, but I have been too lazy. I have read that post a few times and I think that system will fix this problem. It will just require me to switch my whole system, again.
