3 Pally + 1 Shaman + X 4/5

Hey Guys,

I've started this setup (look @ title) and the movement works well. So I've decided to add a 5th one and it should be a shaman , enhancement of course to fit with my 2 Retripally's.

I'm aasking is there any class that could fit with my crew as well as an enhancement shaman?

My Crew:

Retpally

Resto Shaman

With my Pallies I have Imp BoW,Imp BoM + BoK
Imp Ret Aura + Imp Sactitiy
My Restoshaman: Earthshield (of course) + Mana Reg ... you know what a resto can do ;)

I can see no other class is fitting so well like the enhancement shaman.
+10%AP after crit (for all)
2nd Totem Line
Fire Elemental (Earth as well)
Don't really need Mana to make dmg.

Which other class can I chooose?

BTW, would you think it's possible to do heroics? Ok, I'm going to level it, even if it isn't able and I will give it a try, but just want to know what you think about it ;)

First off, daring combo, respect!

In terms of adding to a very melee dps team, nothing really beats enhancement shaman. More totems, unleashed fury. The only one coming close that I can think off is a fury warrior. Battleshout, off tanking capabilities, aoe fear, piercing howl. But a warrior would require more micromanagement then an enhancement shaman needs.

Both enhancement as well as fury warrior don't have OOM problems. Fury warrior least of all, but some practice and you'd see an enhancement shaman has an infinite mana pool as well, really. :p Both in equal gear do roughly the same damage. (Since the fury warrior would get wf totem as well, this is definatly true, fury warrior might even do more dps.)

So, a fury warrior would open up some other options, yet an enhancement shaman would further be able to buff up your melee, by adding a GoA totem for example. And having some nice melee buffs. (Though the melee buffs in itself are matched by a warriors battleshout.)

You know, come to think of it.. Tankadin + Retpally + fury warrior + enhancement shaman + resto shaman. >.> That's a lot of burst and tons of AP. xD (But hard to manage. :P )

Well, Not a straight answer, but it might give you some more info on possibilities. ^^


As for heroics, you'll be fine in most, some fights are easier with ranged, sure, but I mean, I've done a full kara run with nothing but melee dps. It's not impossible, it just sometimes requires more running. (And on time running. Like, take murmur. You can turn and run at the moment he does the skill. But as a melee multiboxer that would be well hard. Then again, if you have a fury warrior, make a macro to have your fury warrior charge to your healer and all your melee following your fury warrior. If your healer isn't too far away, all your melee instantly runs toward the healer without turning delays. ;) Come to think of this, if you master this technique, I'd say a fury warrior could be well useful on many occasions.)

Yay the Fury Warrior would be an Option, the Windfury totem is the only totem I would set with my Restoshaman(if it would be the only) so the Fury Warrior would get the WF, and as I know it only affects the Mainhand. Hm could be tricky to handle that's true, but a Warrior gives another Debuff option, which is great imho, Thunderclap + Demoshout is evil.

But I don't know if it would kicks the ass of my 3rd Pally ;)

OM... how embarrasing I have a Warrior (only prot on 57 but it's a warrior ;))

Wow just looked @ Thottbot.com how many Buttons I would need for both to Play them in a useful style (speaking of Fury + Retribution) about 15 Button for each of them, including some Healing things but without Blessings. Ok somethings like Consecration on the 2nd Pally I could do on the same button as Whirlwind (think Tank should have an extra button for that because he has to get aggro first) , same for Crusader Strike and Bloodthirst. Any suggestions which I could put on the same Button? I guess the Shock from the Enhancer would be also on the CS+BT button.

So the Judgement could be on the Same Button(something like starting with Seal of Wisdon + Crusader(Imp from Retri) ) Then Consecration(Tank) and the second Consecration could be together with Whirlwind und Con(Retri). So I have 2 Buttons for that.

Execute + Hammer of Wrath could be on the same button as Well so I safe another Button ;)

Guess rest is up to my Playstyle, and need some testing ;)

think you can macro the pally a bit to only a few buttons though? And well if you have to make some concessions, mweh screw it just go without some abilities?

Yeah , isn't like I'm only thinking while I'm writing ;)

Got it down to a few 6 or something, but sharing with Shaman and got a bit different setup, nah, not really but changed the tank to Warri and Make a 0/31/30 Specc Bloodthirst + Sealoflight is cool ^^ (Seal of light is imba, got it on my first setup and it pwned everything against 3 mobs I only needed 2 Renew from my priest^^ ok in this case eventually 1 Gift of the Naaru) And I've tanked nearly every instance with a Warrior (except outland and 60 like UBRS and Strat / Scholo ...)

Get my 2 Pallies to Retribution.

Got it down to 6 Buttons with Shaman 9 + 4 Totems (both on same button makes 8 totems but 4 buttons) + F1-F6 for healing stuff, 19 Butons and I'm ready. Rest is for Buffs + Cooldowns and PWN buttons + Oh Sh*t buttons ^^ only thing I'm missing is a mage. My old line up was like oh my go where is which button xD but got used to it, with 1 Keyboard 50+ Buttons or something (no joking and not every spell) I don't have a G15 or something just a normal Keyboard. ^^ It's cool, for normal Fights I just ned 1 heal 1 DMG and 4 tank button (pally) so 6 buttons boxing ^^
My tnka was controlled by Mousebuttons and Shift+Mouse buttons ^^ so I could use the Keyboard for my toons (11 Button mouse^^)

I've theorycrafted melee only teams alittle in my head now and then. Basically you cant think about damage synergies alone. You gotta think about whats practical and playable, and what enables you to steamroll instances fast and safe. I would do warrior tank, 3x rogue, pally healer or shammy for totems. This doesn't really matter. You'll have more dps with the shammy which is great in early game, but you'll lack threat reducing blessing of salvation which is great in the endgame when your melee dps is awesome. Your problem is basically going to be healer aggro, and in the end I'd probably go paladin for blessing of salvation on the healer. It's just convenient. Earth shield would give the warrior aoe threat, but I dont think it would last long in heroics for example. Still, havent done any testing so I cant really give qualified advice. A handy thing with 3 rogues is that you can sap 3 mobs in difficult thrashpacks, and just instantly shadowstep to the target the warrior starts tanking. Sap and consecration can be an annoying combination though.

In the end when all characters are properly geared, anything will work.

I've got 2 Pallies so no Problem with Salvation. And I think it'S Handy enough to Play them Most of the Dmg comes From white dmg, and Procc chance so there's no Problem in handling them. Sorry but this works great in my Opinion, this 3 Rogue ... I don't know. The rogues are harder to handle than my option. because you have to have a look @ your Combopoints and this stuff. And to get a nice Rogue Rotation you need more than 2 Buttons^^ and your only oh sh*t button is vanish or Evasion(?) no extra healer no Buffs (except of Pala) And a Pala in a Melee grp as a healer? no way. Chainheal 4tw.

Sorry but your way isn't my style and in my opinion, it couldn't beat my Crew, maybe you could be killing faster at the first 20maybe 30 levels but that'S all, till I get in to Armory I'll get equal gear for dpsing. I don't see any Aggro Problems with a Full specced Resto shaman, And shit on this AE Tanking till 57 you don't really need it, except of Uldaman and Maraudon, and that could be done with a warrior as well, and I can Consecrate x 2 + Whirlwind + 2 Magma or Firenove Totem, It's not like Mage style but for none elite it's still enough.

CC is overrated, you can even in shattered halls do multimob tanking. Even with my 2 Mage setup I don't need sheeps. 4-5 lvl under the Boss lvl (sheep for the Mobs of course) Instancing is easy going. I was bored of it because there was no Challenge, my motivation was gone. Now I'm more than Motivated ^^ And this setup will kick ass.

With the rogues you'd not use anything other than backstab probably, you'd spam backstab or sinister strike 3-4 times, then eviscerate. Thats it. You're not gonna have some kinda optimal dps rotation. Watching combo points will not be possible. Cloak of shadows and cheat death will be very valuable at times when your dps take aggro. And that WILL happen. Good luck though.

Edit: Come to think about it, I'd especially like to see how your melee team would deal with the penultimate boss in SH.

I use the ~ (tilde, left of the #1 key) for Execute and Hammer of Wrath (<20% finishing move)

For my main tank pally, I used this macro
/cast [nocombat] Avenging Shield
/cast Hammer of Wrath

My warrior:
/cast Execute

My Resto Shaman:
/cast [target=focustarget, help] EarthShield;
/cast [target=Sanctume, exist] EarthShield;
/cast EarthShield;

we in germany have ^ on that part on the KB and it's for my formation ;) But the one next to LShift should do it as well(finishing)^^

Hah, I don't realy ned a formation only my Healer has to stand away ;)
