Monitor or game image settings got messed up somehow.

I looked through the posts first and didn't find one related to this issue ( if there is, please point me there), I thought this hardware thread was the best place to put this question. Its sort of related to multiboxing in that Its the monitor I'm using to do it, but its more about monitor settings. Something got changed, I don't know how, and I'm apparently not bright enough to figure it out myself and was hoping someone with more skills with this could help. With that said, I'll explain the problem. Hopefully its something simple I have just over looked.

Problem: When I first set this up, the display in the main client window looked great. It also looked good when I manually logged into my main to raid. I would fire it up in windowed mode and grab the lower corner and stretch the screen to fill up my whole main screen on the main left hand monitor. However, now when I do it manually, or log into KC and use maximizer, the image on the main left screen is stretched. I used to be able to make the window what ever size I wanted, and the image stayed the same, I would just get more of it. Now when I am in windowed mode, and stretch the size of the window, everything gets shorter and fatter and stretched horizontally. I have tried many things in the game settings to get it back the way it was to no avail and its driving me bonkers. The images in my 4 clients on the right monitor look fine when opened up using maximizer, its just the main window.

My set up: I have a 24" Gateway FHD 2400 that I am using for my main screen with keyclone's maximizer. My 4 other alts are on my Samsung Syncmaster 245 BW. I have a pic of the set up in the gallery. I have the windows display properties set at 3840 x 1200, Color quality = Highest 32 bit, and its got the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 TS 512 displayed there, and in the NVIDA set up wizard its set to Horizontal Span.

Here's a shot of my in game video settings, and the portraits on the left where you can see they are stretched, everything else looks that way too, action bars etc..

On your main window, which dimensions are you trying to use? On your SS, it says 800×600, but apparently (later KeyClone versions stretch the image, if WoW doesn't have the right resolution for the setting in your maximizer) you used some dimensions, that are not like 4:3 or any other compatible WoW resolution. So my suggestion is, use a screen resolution like 1280×1024 for your main and 640×512 for your clones, or 1024×768 and 640×480 or anything like that :D
Make sure, that, when you set up your maximizer, you set it to 1-to-1 since WoW will use the resolution, that you set up in your regions.

i had that same problem with one of my clone windows, just one, and i went searching around and it was in maximizer...the numbers for that particular window were off by 1, it was like the windows that were working were 800X600 and this window was 800X601 and i changed it to match the others and it worked every since...it also happened all of a sudden for no reason like your situation.

what you see in the ss is what I have been using when it worked before, it worked with KC maximizer, and when I would manually log into a window and just grab the corners and sides to make it fit that one LCD. I could resize as I liked and the image stayed constant, just the space on the screen changed as the window grew or shrank.

As for KC maximizer settings, it shows it is set to 1-to-1 .

main screen is 1049 x 1166, the other four on the second screen are 960 x 600 I haven't changed anything there since I set it up.

Its interesting that both of you mentioned specific settings, when I set this up, I just messed around with maximizer until I got a size that fit the screen the way I wanted and that worked fine, until now.

Just like Kedash00 mentioned: you have to use the EXACT resolution, like 800×600. If that's off by only one, say 799×599 or so, then WoW can't handle it. It must be connected to the newer KC maximizer version, when the author added the dropdown menu... so just use a res, that's supported by WoW, like I use (see above). On a 1920×1680 screen, I have one 1280×1024 and two 640×512 windows. Works great with WoW. I actually played around with the values when I installed the 1.8i version of KC, and it was off by one too, so I got a squished image, checked the maximizer and corrected the values. It also may be connected to a later patch version.. /shrug not sure.

Thanks for the input, next chance I get to mess around with the maximizer settings I'll see if that will help. I just hate to have all that screen real estate, but not be able to cover it all up with smaller resolutions/window sizes.

The problem is, its also happening when I am not using KC/maximizer to play. As I wrote before, when I log into my main, I do it from another folder group. I have my 5 box group in a different folder structure so I wouldn't mess up my mains set up tweaking around with my 5box group macros, key binds etc. So, as usual, I log into my main in windowed mode, and resize the window to fit the entire left side monitor. Now, when I do that resize, it will expand the window diagonally, at the point I need to stretch it sideways to fit side to side is when it starts also stretching the image, it didn't do that before, I was able to resize it and the image would stay the same, just the window size would change. I don't know what changed, something in wow 2.4.2 maybe ?

I tried the (wide) resolution options in wow, but then its just not tall enough and when I try to make it tall enough to fit, it resizes larger then the single monitor and part of it moves over to the second monitor which doesn't work either...

Despite the monitor problems, my girls where able to clear Gnomer and the shamen got matching dresses this weekend, except for my pali, she got the mail quest reward pants ( I think she might be butch :P ) /cheer
