Octopus Dualboxing on one machine.

I recently started my dualboxing experience that didn't involve having to switch between windows...however I have ran into a few problems with using Octopus. My first problem results in key clicking. I mapped my button on my main character and when I click that button in game it casts the spell accordingly...however upon releasing the left click button my screen flashes to the second wow window briefly and then back again to my main screen which is terribly stressful on my eyes. The other problem I am having is controlling my character via mouse control. I generally use my mouse for movement in wow and I don't like using the arrow keys or qweasd keys. I am unable to figure out how to set us simultaneous movement of all my characters. I don't like to use the follow command because when I stop to cast sometimes my alt character isn't standing still which results in my main character casting and my alt character not casting. If there is any help available I would appreciate it.

Octopus passes mouseclicks to multiple WoW windows by quickly switching each window to the foreground in turn, positioning the pointer in the same relative position, and then firing the button click event. This is why you see the window briefly flash up. One way around this is to activate a feature in windows called 'Activation follows mouse' or 'X-mouse', while leaving the accompanying option, 'Autoraise when activating', switched off. This can be controlled using the TweakUI powertoy for Windows XP, or by a registry edit. Once it's enabled, the WoW windows will be able to receive mouse focus without being brought to the foreground on your screen, preventing it from flashing up briefly.

Note that this can be quite annoying for general Windows use.

The only feasible way to have characters move together is using /follow. Any other method results in them drifting further and further apart as they're following exactly the same course.

I got the tweakui application and enabled the setting you specified, however I still get the screen flashing.

it will window switch (per WoW ignoring clicks in background AFAIK) for click broadcasting combo's where this is multi instances per client....

but it shouldn't if a click is mapped to a key. might be a bug by the sounds of it...?

Sorry, I'm mistaken.

For me, my multiple wow windows are tiled on my screen with no window covering up another one, so no window has to flash to the "front" when a mouseclick is sent. The TweakUI suggestion was totally irrelevant.
