Multiboxer ... soon to be!
Hi everyone!
I have played wow since the beta and been a hardcore raider for some time now (>1 year). Im currently working my way through SWP with my guild ... but soon my work situiation will change and I wont be able to raid (since raids start before I get home). Im not ready to give up the game and though of trying a new angle: multiboxing. It has been something that has facinated me since I saw my first Xzin-movie (hi Xzin) a long time ago.
My plan is to go "all in" from the start, so yesterday I order myself a rig that hopefully will manage 5 accounts at the same time (I would love to have a 3-comp-6-screen-rig but there is not a_snowballs_chance_in_hell that I will be able to explain why I need 3 computers to play _one_ game, for my wife! *smile*).
Anyway this is what I orderd:
Intel Q6600 Quad Core 2.4Ghz
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT (512Mb)
4GB DDRs (800Mhz)
The computer comes with Vista but it seams I have to "downgrade" it to XP, after reading some posts on the forum!?
Im going to start with a 5xElemental Shaman setup ... for a couple of reasons:
- 5 x the same class will make things as easy as possible (multiboxing-wise).
- With 5 x Elemental shamans you can both PvP and PvE (thanx Veronica for the 5xElemental Shaman HC MGT-video).
- 20 totems / chain lightning / heals are sexy!
- Me want to DPS bigtime (I have only played healer(s) so far).
I have been lurking on the forums for a while and I have been collecting some useful macros. Now its time to order a copy of Keyclone and try it out on my current computer (I can move my keyclone-license once I get my new computer ... right?!).
I will continue to "lurk" for ~2 more weeks (the time it takes for me to get my new computer) ... then I might start spamming the forums! :-)

You'll find a lot of vista haters here, but you by no reason "need" to "downgrade" to XP. In fact, depending on your monitor situation I would say NOT to unless you like horizontal span. Dual view in XP will kill your framerates because of an apparent bug with how it displays or something. You can fix this by either using horizontal span in xp, or switch to vista which fixes the bug.
I for one 5 box under vista, and have absolutely no issues with it. You can turn off the "are you sure, are you sure" stuff if you like also. If you like vista, ignore the haters. Also, true symbolic links in Vista rules.

If you PM Keyclone and tell him the old system id, and the new system id he will change it over for you. If you plan to use keyclone on both however, you need a separate license for each machine. It sounds like you just want to move it and only use it on your new comp though. He's good about responding quickly to that kinda stuff.
Have fun man.
