All the cool kids are doing it (New Screenie 27 April)

Well after spending the last month or three working on my regular group (2xMage, Pally, Priest & Hunter/Warlock) I decided to see what all the fuss is about and start 5 (cookie-cutter) Shammys. Its the only class I have not played all the way to 70 so I thought it was about time I started one - or 5. At lvl 16 I'm still having a blast! I can see why there are so many 5 x Shammy groups, they put out the DPS. I was amazed I could do a level 18 quest (lvl 18 mob) at level 12. Niiiiiice!

And while I'm cutting'n'pasting images I manged to put together a make-shift vertical monitor stand by using 1 length of wood (60cm), 2 x monitor wall mount brackets, 8 screws, 6 cups of coffee, 1 can of coke (diet), 3 cut fingers and 6 hours of foul language. I'm happy with the end result. Now I need 2 more monitors and I'll have a matching set for the left hand side.

Updated 27th April

The girls just hit 31 today, thanks to a lot of instance boosting. I think the last quest I actually completed was somewhere around level 16-17 ish. The rest of the time they have lived in Stockades and SM.

Ding 35! At 35 they are getting more XP per mob than when they were 34 in the same instance.
I won't have much game time over the coming week as work and life will be busy. They might sit at 35 for a while.

Boosting will continue on the next episode of Who wants to be a level 70

They are legal now, a few runs through stockades and they are sitting on lvl 16. They were boosted ofcause :) No point in having a Pally and not using it to boost :P

The big draw, which I'm seeing on my 5x hunter group as well, is that 5x DPS is minimum 25% +dmg over a 4x dps + 1x tank/healer and even more than that over a 3dps/1heal/1tank makeup. Now, how many talents would you give up for +25% dmg? :P And it scales infinitely. Throw that in with a group that isn't that squishy and has a ton of utility AND heals AND wipe prevention and, well, you see the results. ;)

From my limited expierence 5 boxing Shammys it feels like I have 5 mages wearing mail (leather at this level, but you get the point), able to heal and crowd control (limited using totems) who are owning anything / everything (PVE) they turn their hand to. I can see the attractions of it :) I'm going to run WSG tonight and see how many QQ'ers I can find.I'm not a big PVP fan but I'm damn curious about 5 x Shammys in PVP.

Wait until lvl 32 when you get.... CHAIN LIGHTNING!!!! muwhahhahhah. I've been very pleased with my 5 shammy group.

lol, sounds like me. I rarely ever cuss in front of people (if at all), but when I'm by myself and something is bothering me the expletives just fly out of my mouth.

5 Shaman = 4 Shaman = GF Boosting

Well I started this project with 5 Shaman, I the dropped one because my Pally was one on the accounts and I couldn't boost without it. I then aquired a friends account with a Pally capable of boosting but by this time the 5th Shaman was so far back it would have taken many hours to catch up and I simply didn't have the patients for that.

After reaching level 31 my GF saw how fast it was too boost and decided she just had to have my Pally to boost her grils (2x Warlocks, 1xPally). So that left me having to *ewww* quest. After about 1 hour of questing I decided I wanted to go back to boosting. After a small tussle with my GF (she won btw) I realised I was not getting my Pally back :) So the only logical thing to do make another account (yes that makes 9 now) and transfer a Pally (yes, yet ANOTHER pally I have) to the new account just so *I* can boost my girls.

So, now I my group of 4 shammys + my Pally boosting them. And my GF has her girls + my other Pally boosting them. And they all lived happily ever after.

Oh and DING 32!
