Economic value of multi-box and most cost effective #?

Hey all! I’m new to the community and was considering multi-boxing for the first time.
I predominately want to use it as a way to power level and do content when I don’t have a group (make farming easier).

my biggest question is - duo boxing economically worth it?
idealistically I want to be able to farm enough gold to buy all required game time as well as store credit for expansions/services.

I was thinking of starting with two and trying to farm from there, but not sure if I am cutting myself short.

I have boxed for 10 of the 13 years I have played but am only just getting into trying to set teams up for making gold.

I would consider running 3 - at least that way you can solo islands.

When I boxed 2 it didn't feel much different in mob killing speed to just playing solo. I always play 3's or 5's myself. I was going to do 8 but decided it's not worth the extra hassle.

Have a look at prices for things on here then you can hopefully work out which server is good for goldmaking via gathering or farming.

im in the US. I predominately play classic (biggest reason for wanting to multi-box, level grind is real).
mom also cheap and don’t want to pay for multiple accounts LOL.

Sorry about double post - do you think it’s worth it to multi-box for old content?
aka can you make enough gold farming herbs in old content to get wow tokens?

dont really want to pay for more than 1 bfa account at this point.

Multiboxing is powerful doing the following for making gold:
Transmog runs (this would work for old world content)
Gathering nodes (only works on newer expansions, forgot when they enabled a node to be tapped by more than 1 character)
AH sniping - if you like playing the Auction house, you can have a character just sitting at the auction house and snipe the good items, while you can continue to play on your main.
Tradeskilling such as transmutes or similar. It's a lot easier to level up 5 at once, then 1 at a time. So you can get them to max level and do the Transmutes that have 1 day cooldowns.
Emissary rewards - if the reward is 2k, you can knock it out in the same time and make 10k hypothetically.

There is no formula for X accounts = Y gold/hour, and everything is going to depend on the demand for the server you play on, which is constantly changing, as well as the time and effort you're willing to invest into everything. Knowing this, no one will be able to tell you if running more accounts to make extra gold will be "worth it," and it's something you will need to research based on your schedule and your server.
