Rotations @ Level 19 (MMMMP)

Hey guys, I'm new to multi-boxing and this forum. So far I am loving the hell out of it!!

Anyway, I am unsure of what rotations to use on my mages. I just use the Priest for healing and it's pretty hard to find a lot of info about multi boxing classic for now.

I'm following Peregrine's guide to MMMMP, so far so good. But... I'm now to Wailing caverns. Says to farm the raptors in the inner ring but I just came from RFC and AoE farming in that dungeon was crazy. Just shield, Arcane Explosion, rinse & repeat. Coming to WC - I can't AoE the mobs down, I go OOM before I'm able to kill them all. I can do single target Fireball but it's really slow.

Any suggestions, guides or help is greatly appreciated!! :cool:

Singel target Mage rotations are all easy.

Frost
Frostbolt
that's it.

You can advance your rotation or spell selection with higher level if you want.
Adding following skills
Frost Nova Rotation for Shatter (non bosses) (a small damage increase)
Fire Blast for finishing / runners


Fire
there are different options

x) Castsequence 1-3x Scorch then Fireball (depending on mages and specc)
x) only using Scorch (1,5sec cast, you have to spam your button )
x) only using Fireball (if you dont take Scorch talents)

with PoM you can add instant Pyroblast
you can also add Fire Blast for finishing / runners
you can pull with Pyroblast


In my opinnion as Multiboxer you should make your rotations as easy as possible to be most effective.
Mage is the easiest class for doing this. Both Frost and Fire are very strong.

I can't help you with your specific level or your setup. I didn't play without a tank.

Yeah I think I’m getting too ahead of myself when it comes to these dungeons. I’m imagining that I can just AoE pull like crazy and finish the trash in minutes.

I’m currently building into arcane/fire but I’m going to sit down and look at the talents when I get home. I’ve always played frost, so I think I’m going to go into fire and change it up! I never thought about scorch... Not sure why honestly, it’s a great spell!

WC is cancer and I would avoid it. At 20 I would go run SFK. Much better drops, but be aware of the spell immune/silence mobs.

I leveled with arcane/frost shatter. Rotation was

1. Pull mobs
2. Frost nova
3. FlameStrike
4. Frost nova (not always needed)
5. Cone of cold
7. Arcane Explosion

Also, priest holy nova is, IMO, the MVP of AOE for multiboxing. :)

Note I did level with WMMMP. At 60 I find arcane/fire is much better. If I was leveling again I would probably go arcane/fire, filling in fire first of course.

Haha thanks man, yeah when the Deviate Guardians call for help and I’m already half mana and half of the raptors come running it doesn’t make it fun.
I really really love AoE grinding on my main mage, but trying to get it setup with isboxer has been a pain so far. I tried the setup for AoE from MiRai’s video, but for some reason when I click, it will register on the current window, and the others won’t do it. But if I click again, it will then have them all cast whichever AOE spell I need, in this case it was Flame strike.

I think it’s just user error and I’m going to go all the way back through the setup process and try some new things with it.

For me, I don't really like cast sequences and tons of macros. I do use the "nuke the screen" macro for POM/FS as described in the leveling thread.

For "normal" Flamestrike, I have a combat broadcast hotkey "Ctrl+R+Click". On each of my mages, I bound "Ctrl R" to a flame strike icon on the top status bar (not the action bar...or whatever it is called). I press control+r and position the circle and click. You need to make sure the camera's in all the mages are somewhat pointing the right way. Sometimes you miss. :)

I have frost nova on a round robin Ctrl+F. When I line of site pull with my warrior back to my mages, I frost nova the pack, which gives me time to launch flame strike without too much stress. I also have frost nova bound to 6 on all mages for emergency runners.

When blitzing, I often don't flame strike. For example, the trash undead in live strat I just blitz, frost nova and arcane explosion/holy nova. AE is bound to 7 and holy nova is bound to 8 so I can spam one without the other as needed.

When not tanking a boss, my warrior's cleave is bound to 7 so he actually does something instead of just auto attacking (I have different bar for tanking bosses).

There really is no wrong configuration, it is all what you learn and muscle memory. I could probably setup something more efficient but haven't had any real issues. I get more frustrated with broke follows and forgetting to turn off broadcasting. I swear 90% of my wipes are due to those issues more than anything.
