The best dungeon seems to be scholomance but I'm guessing thats just cancer with how close the mobs are, casters and runners etc. Does anyone have suggestions on where to go to start getting some descent gear on my mages?

Check mage BiS list on classic wowhead and go where the gear drops. Mage BiS gear drops from multiple dungeons. LBRS, BRD, DM, Scholo, ST, etc.
