1 intel core2 quad Q6600
4gigs of ram
at least 1 7200RPM HD
recomended is 2+ HD's or more I run mine in raid 0 :}

Plenty leftover for case selection and adding stuff like extra harddrives or cdburners etc. 4gb of ram and that 512mb video card is blazing. And again theres alot leftover to add extras or swap out parts etc. Built in networking is fast and it has built in HD audio. And youve got spending money for your monitors, unless you already have them , then you just have spending money :D
The Phenom isn't worth it, go Intel Quad core.
I would suggest going with 2 machines. You're just going to get too much lag in populated areas with 1.
1) quad core intel (used to run 4 accounts - 1 account on each processor) (you can make this for $850 without the monitor) - (intel quad core q6600, MSI motherboard, 8800gt 512 vid card, 4 gigs memory, case, ps, 160 gig hd) add another $130ish if you don't have Vista already.
2) single box machine - you can use whatever your existing system is - this will run your main.
3) Keyclone $20x2 and Multiplicty ($30)
Q6600, 4gb of ram, a basic case, 8800gts, DDR2 motherboard, 1 sata HDD, 1 sata DVD-ROM, 500 watt PSU, mouse, keyboard should all be under $1k. I had 8gb of ram and two 22" monitors for $1600 - $150 in rebates.
You gotta remember hes going for under 1k, which though it is a phenom, gets the job done perfectly.
some people told me that Q6600 have 3gig, but on new egg only 2.6
