ATG swapping possibly broken.

It may be better to use a smaller profile that does just the ATG swap and a WoW macro test to see that it worked.


Description of the problem:

My warrior is usually default ATG 'warrior - PROT' but in this profile he is ATG 'warrior - ARMS' but this is irrelevant.

In TOGGLES there are two keymaps one for TOGGLE-TANK and one for TOGGLE-DPS. These keymaps are responsible for moving the warrior to the appropriate ATG and out of the appropriate ATG.

Example would be evoking warrior.goARMS has actions for moving into ATG 'warrior-ARMS' as ATG 'warrior-PROT' and then moving out of ATG 'warrior-PROT' as ATG 'warrior-ARMS'

The following wow macro is to swap specs and send a test message to the party chat. This never works if the warrior defaults ATG 'warrior-PROT' and tries to swap to ATG 'warrior-ARMS' It doesn't work in the reverse order either.

Just an FYI

I fixed this last night by making an ATG 'warrior' group that the warrior is always in.

Then the ATG swap calls were made by ATG 'warrior' not the 'warrior - PROT' or 'warrior - ARMS' ATGs.

I don't know why the call didn't work doing it the other way. I can only assume there was some sort of race condition.

Nvm spoke too soon. The DPS keymaps are still not functional.

I've tried this a number of ways. The only way this actually works is by turning keymaps on and off respective to the spec and class I want. None of this is through the ATG groups though.

ATG groups are definitely broken. They work if the characters are in the ATG groups at the time of exporting the information to innerspace but dynamically changing the ATG doesn't work with macro changes.

This includes testing with the supported named WoW macro method.

Hey I strugged with how to handle specs when I first started like a pro, but I ultimately decided that action target groups weren't really very necessary any more.

I don't personally handle spec swaps using action target groups at all. With like a pro it just isn't necessary. Just reassign the character to the Warrior-Arms keymap and move on with your life.

Obviously I assign Virtual Combat Key Map to my usual spec by default, and I have to keep in mind that any time I reload my team isboxer will think my character is in that default spec (if in the wrong spec you just tap the spec button)

I use one button in my dynamic combat set for switching specs on all of my characters, just like you have one button for Buffing or AoeDps

The "Spec" Macros are very simple, I like to use /print so I have confirmation in the chat window that the macro has run

The only other thing that I do in relation to my specs now is I add a popup text to the "Buff" button (once again this is within the spec specific key map) that says what spec the character is currently in (or rather what spec/character/class isboxer THINKS it is in). It only does this on the current window, it buffs on all of the windows as normal.

The additional benefit to using my method is that I never have to /reload to make my macros work, because all of a given classes macros are in one macro set. The only exception to this is that I have a "caster druid" vs "melee druid" macro sets because that was the only way to keep things managable.

I'll also add that this lets me use a temporary dynamic set like "ProvingGroundsDiscipline" but then get back to raid disc with another key press or two without doing anything other than setting the character default to xPriestDiscProvingGrounds.
