(MoP Heroics/LFR) - 3 DPS - Locks or Mages ?

Looking for 3 DPS to play just the three of them in lvl 90 LFR and to 5 box with a tank and healer in Heroics.


Haven't played for a few years so not sure where things are at atm. So the question is 3 Mages or 3 Locks ?

Main concern is how much DPS is dependent on procs and how easy this is to manage while boxing when spamming rotations across multiple characters.

Arcane Mage is a pretty reliable toon for multiboxing, you are more able to get near a Arcane Mages best output when multiboxing compared to other classes that rely more on proc based (rage/energy) abilities. Suicidesspyder posted a one button macro in the macros forum that is close to what I use.

I've recently started to gear out a Destro Lock, and am using the 1 button macro from lazymacros.com, and am surprised by how well my dps is so far, but much more difficult to approach your best output (ember generation being a big factor).

The most easiest and best DPS though is Survival Hunter both single and AoE damage via a 1 button macro, but I know that isn't part of your question :)

I play 5 mages in LFR with some good success however I switched them from arcane to ice because they do slightly higher damage this way

I have 3 locks and 3 mages. Mages are better. Arcane is better when you have full mana.
