Do you use /castseqence macros or just have individual spells all over? Having trouble getting my cast orders right

I recently boosted a team of 4 priests up and then level granted a DK up to tank for them(I already have a prot pally, so I wanted something different). The only thing I've boxed before were shamans back in Wrath when everyone was doing them. Obviously having mixed classes/roles makes it a bit more challenging. Currently I have the DK as blood and 3 Shadow/1 holy priest(dual specced to disc, I haven't decided yet). What I've done is set up sort of similar spells on similar buttons and let ISBoxer do it's automatic assisting thing. For example, I set up my shadow priest's DoTs on the same buttons as plague strike and the frost disease thing. This is working, but I fear that I'm doing far sub-par damage. I also set the healer up with some targeted heals for my tank, aoe heals, and I'm trying to set up an fx region in ISBoxer so I can click through to my healer's vuhdo pane, though it's giving me a hard time.

Right now I'm just questing in Hyjal until I get the gear together to LFD, so it's hard to tell for sure. It just seems like there is a lot of downtime when my priests aren't doing anything or my healer is just shooting out heals that nobody needs.

I guess what I'm asking is is there a more efficient way to do this?

For PVE Instances, I think I can safely assume that most everyone uses some form of /castsequence (usually a combination of several different sequence macros.)

When I do my shadow priests, I usually have isboxer spamm 4 buttons for me. 3 of the buttons are just cooldown based abilities. These are Mind blast, Halo and Shadow word :Death. The 4th button is a cast sequence macro that contains Shadow word: Pain, Vampiric touch and Mind flay. I manually add Devouring Plague when I see them having 3 orbs on them.
The healing part I dont add in my spamm buttons, I use an healing addon for the healer with isboxers video fx to be shown on the tanks window so I can easily heal if needed and not waste it.

Quick question, Morg, what do you mean by you have ISboxer spam 4 buttons? Do you just have 4 things on your actionbars, or do you do key-remapping and multi-step buttons? I understand the concept and that's exactly what I would like, I'm just a little shaky on the details of the how to.

I get how to make the macro, that's simple. I assume you just have something like /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=10 Shadow Word: Pain, Vampiric Touch, Mind Flay, mind flay, mind flay. Sound about right?

My question is, where would be a good place to put this macro? My problem is it seems like for DK tanking I'm using about 6 or 7 hotkeys on a regular basis, so I can't exactly just put this macro on 1 and sit there hitting 1 over and over. Nor do I like pressing buttons on my DK and nothing happens on the priests because a cooldown is up for the other abilities(mind blast, halo, and death, you said). I'm sorry to be such an utter newb, but while I am familiar with the basics of boxing, getting the tank and DPS to mesh together is kicking my butt.

I use a combination of castsequences and priority. Unholy DK - Prot Paladin - Ret Paladin - Enhance Shaman - Resto Shaman.

Healing is a mixed bag. I have "hands off" healing in that randomized Riptides, Healing Stream Totem and Unleash Elements are all passively incorporated into my spam, but the bulk of my healing is done actively through mouseover macros.

I'd suggest looking through the MoP Macro thread. It has a breakdown of the 2 main ways people build macros. There is also some macro tips in the Multiboxing guides vol 1 and vol 2.

what kind of macros do you have? i also am dualing shadow priests and my fingers cannot reach past the number 5 haha

It may take some reading to get an understanding of IsBoxer's Pro method, but once you do it makes things much easier in the long run. Extra effort now means less effort every time you change your team, or start a new team.

Or just switch to 2 disc and 2 shadow, then attonement healing with the occasional shield

Thank you all for the help, I've made it through the guide to setting up ISBoxer like a pro. Now I'm just working on tweaking cast orders and such(and fixing all the fallthrough macros I made because I forgot they don't work anymore, whether in a macro or in ISBoxer).

Grondir-I actually do want to try pure Disc healing, but I figure I have too many unknowns right now. I plan on getting used to healing with Holy and then try Disc so I can make an accurate comparison of which I like better.
