How much extra money to do you make having your own guild? What are the perks?

I'm considering starting my own guild for my teams, but I'm reluctant for a couple of reasons. First off, my current guild is level 25, so I'd be losing the bonus xp and all the other gains, at least for a while. Also, I rather like my current guild, so I'd be missing out on some of the social aspect. I do have a couple of questions

How much, approximately, do you make per week from your guild(cash flow perk, dungeon challenges, everything)? What is the cap there? This is my biggest concern. Unlike some people on here, money has always been a problem for me. I'm hoping to capitalize on boxing with crafting professions, but that's a ways away.

Is it worth it? What other benefits are there besides shared bank tabs and the little bit of extra money?

I'd say keep your social group but learn to maximize a few professions. Honestly just doing your farm religiously on all of your boxing toons would probably be able to maintain you money wise. If you aren't a huge crafter then the ease of having your own guild bank matters less, and it is very easy to become completely isolated in this game if you are mbing and in your own guild.

It sounds like you don't really want to start your own guild, you're only thinking about doing it because you think you're missing out on something. Really, you aren't.

You might make a couple thousand a week in gold from maxing all the guild perks, which as a multiboxer, you won't possibly be able to unless you are a max level guild {guild XP converted to gold for challenges} run at least 8 toons{?} and have a lot of time to play each week. You'll make more in less time just doing dailies *5.

Shared banking is nice, but it's just as easy to trade or use instant mail. If you just want more storage, you can just use alts to create a new guilds as needed.

The guild itself wont make you money for a very long time, since the bank slots are not free. Though that is one of the big benefits in my opinion.

To be clear, when you get the guild some cash flow and unlock the instance challenges, you start making some money. So you make 10% g looted + (125g*7) per week. You can get those few levels pretty quick a day or so if you just do the low level stuff to 12-15 and repeat on a team.

Hitting all the instances, scenarios and raids for gold is a lot of work, definitely doing just for the gold.

Also the gold looted off mobs just isnt what it used to be, when the achievements first came out, the old world raids dropped a lot more gold for example. I am not sure if the AoE loot nerf impacter gold as much as it did other items.

Most of the gold awarded now is through other means that picking up off corpses.

You pretty much pegged me here. I don't do a lot of stuff with my guild, raiding and such, but I would miss the social aspect. I thought the amount of cash gained by having a guild might be larger, but I see that it's really not all that much, especially with the cost of bank slots and the amount of time it would take me to get my guild up to 25 and regain the guild perks.

You make lots of gold raiding but a private guild just for your boxing team wont make you much gold. You'll make enough to cover guild repair for your teams but you wont make a lot.

Once level 25 you can sell your guild and make a lot. Not sure what guilds go for now but they used to sell for 100k+ and I have seen forum posts about them selling for 250k.

As for the amount of time it takes to get to level 25, not long at all with a 10 man team. Raise your team to 90 and a few dailies and you'll be there.

As the person above me said, you'll probably just make enough money for guild repair if you have your own guild. Does your current guild offer you free guild repair? If they don't ask that they make an exception since you can (and presumably are) doing a lot of the "guild runs" that earn money all by yourself. I used to have this arrangement. My GM made the lowest rank in the guild for me alone and gave me a much higher repair limit than the rest of the casuals (same as raiders, I think 500g a day, which its pretty hard to use up). Having it be a low rank rather than a high one helps with no one getting upset about it. In MOP my guild just switched to everyone getting really high limits, since the cash comes easier. I still have my special rank that only I think is special, for the toons I still have in that guild. I personally did switch to a guild bank for myself, but I try to keep my tank character (or whoever I drive with) in a populated guild because the social aspect is important.

You cant get 250K for a guild anymore cause they level faster now, maybe 80K if you are lucky.

I made my guild for the travel perk which they removed but I am very happy to run a large guild, although we have over 350 level 90 members we never raid since the old core left .... bleh but still its nice to be guild master of such a large guild. All the monies I put back into repairs, I dont put cash into the guild, but I dont take any out either. And I just tell them the bank in closed and thats it so I can move stuff around between my toons simpler.

Bottom line if you are ok in your current guild I would stay UNLESS you want to build your new guild up to 1000 members, otherwise you gain very little.
