To tank or not to tank

So My char's hit 58 today, but I can't go into outlands yet cus I'm buying TBC tomorrow. So I got a question meanwhile.

My setup is a 70 warlock and 4xdruids. Until now I have always used the warlock as my main and kinda powerleveled the druids. But my guess is that neither the lock or the voidwalker will be able to tank in ramparts and up. So I'm wondering if I should make on of the druids feral and use him as my main and for tanking. What do you guys think?
And btw, do you guys use on alt as a main healer, or letting all of them heal/dps?

If you got some spare time write how you manage all of this and what problems I might be facing.

I don't see why you couldn't do all of the level 70 instances with this setup if you swap into bear or are tight with heals. But it isn't going to be easy. Heroics? Heh. I managed to do all of the instances with a priest "tank" but I had tons of DPS and I was ultra fast on heals.

There are very few setups that are completely unviable, and I am not saying yours is but you certainly picked a strange combination!

What's disturbing is that by not having the 70 lock as my main, I'll loose alot of DPS.

Not ALOT of dps. Just make sure you set everything up right. Its trickey (or at least i would think so) to have three different specced characters

Hi mate. I think i would have tryed to go with your lock and 4 moonkins atleast for as long you can push that setup.

The setup i'd would have tryed would be:

Lock - Less thread specced with a tanking pet for OTing mobs.
Druid1 - Moonkin with extra armor specced. Maybe a nice mace and Omen.
Druid2,3,4- Moonkin with less threat speccing and some resto talents.

Then your druid1 should grab agro while being in moonkin form with the same armor as in bear. but.. some less Stamina and the extra threat the bear form would have given. And then you keep your other druids in caster form since they get the aura from druid1 in moonkin . And they can keep him hoted up all time. Start all fight with 3xregrowth on druid 1 and nuke nuke nuke :D 12x tress on all bosses :D Remeber barkskin on your tanking moonkin :P

That is by far the wierdest combo yet.



Why did you choose it?

That is a nice combo he have chosen.. yeah maybe a bit strange.. but druids are hybrids so he should manage everything with that setup. And think of the nice crits he will get in pvp when 4 druid pops out of cat and pops some startfires. And moonfire spammes.

Anyway.. i found a moonkin tanking article you might wanna take a look at.. There is also a few youtube movies where you see moonkins tanking up to prince/gruul etc.

Or, you could spend the time you're waiting on BC to level up another druid for tanking or a pally or warrior. :P

I got BC now and I figure I'l just have them all specced boomkin and try and dps everything down so quick I won't need a tank. My void got 9k hp and if he dies my lock got 13k so it should be fine in ramparts and up.

According my combo. It's not wierd at all really, I rolled 4 druids and boost with my 70 lock. I dunno if I'l be doing any 70 instances and heroics, we'll see.
