Multiboxing Questions

Hey guys, I'm just wondering what would be a good set-up for a 3 cleric team, I'm just running 3 trial cleric accounts for PvP to test out multiboxing and decide if I actually wanna pay the amount per month, or I may just spend $15 for ISBox 90 day and $75 for three 60 day rift cards. But my questions are what would be good key binds, I was using 1-9 for my first action bar and [shift] 1-9 for my second action bar, and that wasn't working because it kept messing up and for some reason the typing is messed up so it always holds shift down so I can't use action bar one. it also messes up so I can't type numbers at the top of my keyboard 1-9 it'd just do symbols, but I could do lowercase letters, very weird and I have no idea how to fix. But my other question was how do you set ISBox up to switch main character after the main one dies. And would there be any way to set up a macro to do DoTs and when the dot is active go to the next one, like Vex then Curse of Discord, then Tyranny of Death and have Bound Fate for the last one and it just cycles til the tar is dead. Also if there's any tips you'd give a new multiboxer I'll gladly take them. My chars are level 13 now if you have any idea for classes for more survivability.

Perhaps you have WoW-modifiers enabled in ISBoxer and your main character happens to be the [Shift] character? Then IsBoxer would add [Shift] to all your 1-9 key presses.

You can set up a keybind to switch to another character if you die. I mouse-click on a character window manually, though (via a picture-in-picture feature). Or just drag the mouse over to the monitor on another computer. My assist macro in Rift uses the [shift][ctrl][alt] modifiers so that all characters can assist whoever I currently use as "main" character.

In IsBoxer, you can set up a sequence for a key. Every time you hit that key it'll do the next action in the sequence. I don't use it myself, but you can set things up so that if you press 'A', it will first do one action on your action bar in Rift. Then you press 'A' again, and it will do the next action on your action bar. I think the in-game command /castsequence worked like that in WoW.

Ahhh thanks I think I do have WoW-Modifiers enabled too... And thanks for all of that, but would you have any tips for Classes though? Not sure what to use, I was just running Arbiter, but they die so fast, maybe that's just how it is in early-game multiboxing pvp.

I would have 3 inquisitors, or 3 cabalists with Obliterate enabled and spam Bound Fate (the cabalists could be combined with Warden or Sentinel for healing). If Obliterate is too high for you, I'd stick with the 3 inquisitors (with a little bit of Sentinel for heals). Your main should have a second role for tanking Justicar (and any tanking gear you have). One of the others should have a full Sentinel healing spec, for the tricky encounters.

Also, so I don't forget it - if all your chars have Outfitter and you turn on FFA looting, your main will suddenly be looting a LOT more cloth. Having one character actually train up can be good for making bags for the team, the others can stay at skill level 1 and still make even high-level cloth be dropped a lot more. The main should have Outfitter, Mining, Foraging, so he gets everything needed on the minimal. Another char can have Butchering (use the /interact macro to let that guy skin after a kill).

For healing/cleansing, I use Shift+1-5 while mousing over dudes in the raid frame. The healing macro it triggers on the characters that on healing duty will use the @mouseoverui modifier. (Though at some point I think had them click instead, to fully select the dude, before casting the healing spell. It seemed more reliable for some reason...)

In addition, I also use the numeric keyboard for healing. Hitting 1-5 on these buttons will make the healers select my current main and heal him right away.

I put all my characters in an "Active Target Group". Then I have some buttons to cycle through them if I need to switch a character to the "Healers" ATG. All characters in the "Healers" ATG will respond to Shift+1-5 for mouseoverui healing, and numpad 1-5 for main heals. Characters in other ATG will keep doing what they're doing. Assisting and casting dps spells, for instance.
