Looking for Class suggestions to Compliment my Current Teams

I have 5 accounts which I have been levelling up with RAF and currently have the following:

Main Account: Priest, Paladin, DK, Druid [+3more could come from grant levels]
RAF1: Shaman, Mage, [+2more could come from grant levels]
RAF2: Shaman, Mage, [+2more could come from grant levels]
RAF3: Shaman, Mage
RAF4: Shaman, Mage

So my plan now is to level up a few more characters 40 then use my grant levels to take them to 80. This way I can create two more level 80’s on both RAF1 and 2, and three more on my main account (if I want to). Getting from 1-40 is pretty quick, so I plan to save the levels for the later ones.

My goal is to do pve and will be aiming for 5 man heroics. I’m interested to hear what people think would be good classes to compliment these and give me a range of options?

I will be trying out tank + 4 elemental shaman, but also read an interesting reply by Chivalrous on another post about setting up a team which gives all 8 of the main buffs and is melee based, something like:

Druid Tank
Paladin Healer
Enhancement Shaman
Melee DPS (Fury Warrior?)
Melee DPS (Frost DK?)

I could do the above by moving my paladin to my RAF 3 or 4 then creating the melee characters on RAF1 and RAF2.

Any thoughts? I want to give myself a few options while I still have the RAF levelling bonus, and wouldn’t object to levelling up another team or two. At the moment I am planning on sticking with all melee or all ranged dps to keep things easier to manage.

i would say get another mage on your account 1 so you can play 5 mages in PVE.
if you want a mixed ranged team maybe Feral,mage,boomkin,shaman,holy pally. will give you one in each gear group and if you use your pally on account 1 you can get it a tank set for another team at the same time.

level up a feral druid, on account other than 1. use pally from acc1, so then you can level a warrior, dk,monk,rogue and you have the toons for the mixed ranged comp and the mixed mele comp(plus a monk and rogue if you want them)

Thanks for the repsonse tundra. What sort of PVE content would you do with 5 mages that would be better than doing it with tank and 4 mages?

Interested what sort of all melee teams people have found successful. I'm looking at getting a range of complimentary buffs/abilities and keep the amount of micro-management down. Having to position chars behind bosses etc would make things less efficient. For example I find my frost DK works well. I can setup a 1 button macro which can be spammed to do about 80-90% of the dps that I can do playing solo, but the way eclipse works on my boomkin means that I take a big hit on dps when using a macro.

How are Fury Warriors and rogues for being able to macro dps?

disc/shadow/lock/elemental + your choice of tank levelled really well for me. I was going to use a boomkin at 90 but decided to stick with the spriest instead. I've been lazy about getting them into heroics but the dps mix has been great. It also works very smoothly because if anything is tricky I can swap the second priest over and do double atonement disc to brute force things.

Not a problem Ravish just so you know i haven't boxed at 90 so i don't know what teams are successful but
the reason 5 mages are great is because they can all cast invisibility to reset combat and they use their mirror images to tank(if you had a tank you couldn't reset combat)
problems with this team are:
-you can't use the dungeon finder so only 1 heroic a day
-no rez if one of your character dies(why you take engineering on all 5 toons)
-hard to gear since all your characters are cloth
Though best thing about it is that if your geared you will take down bosses in 20-40 secconds. you could probably do the same thing with hunters(since both have timewarp and have tanks)

Interesting points about the mage team, I'll probably create another mage on my main account using grant levels.

My main char is a holy priest so I will probably use that to heal in heroics to start with as she significantly outgears them. Should make up for the poorly geared tank and make things a bit more fogiving when I'm learning the ropes.

Having a team spread out over the different gear groups (cloth/leather/mail/plate) makes sense, but should only be a problem initially whilse they gear up through heroics. After that getting gear through vp etc won't be such a bottleneck.

Has anyone done this in the expansion? I have not seen Runtu make a post for months, i thought for sure he would let us know. I do know that, atm, arcane is the highest mage DPS. So it might be possible Just not sure they have the busrt they did in Cata, It was not just the mirror images and invis that made it successful. It was being able to kill raid trash mobs and heroic dungeon bosses BEFORE all your mirrors were dead.

i just changed servers and am Rafing all my teams up at the moment so im not sure if they have the dps. it will be a 2 months before i have my teams up at 80. would be nice to know the limits of specific classes for pve content. what sites can you go to to find out the average dps of someone starting MOP heroics? i guess you could work out how long it would take you to down a boss with their health and some dps numbers
