Input on New Machine

Im currently looking at this list, which is highly similar to another list that was posted recently.

Its going to replacing an Alienware Aurora R3 which was very similar in specs, with an i7-2600K, 16 Gigs of Corsair Vengeance., 2 TB SATA II Geforce 560 Ti. I know a lot of people dislike Alienware, but i have been pretty indifferent to them, even after the merger into Dell.

Its been over 10 years since i built a machine from scratch, as i started to dislike DOA products, hence why i started buying pre-built to work machines(LoL they do not always work as intended tho).

I am a 5 boxer (5 Physical machines) i use 2 other machines for Streaming and Capture so i have 7 computers in my room. I will be basically moving my current main machine down into the secondary and rolling off the bottom (Weakest) machine which is a Dell XPS machines from 2 years ago.

I need some considerations regarding what i have listed and if anyone has any other ideas, i am usually open. i have a approximately $2000 US budget range, i do not mind spending less, if i had to spend more i can probably do so ever so slightly. I also do not mind downgrading Processors if a 3770K is overkill.

My Goal is to be able to multi-box 5 WoW or Rift on a single machine, as i would like to start phasing out all the cases i have in my room, not counting the other laptops i also have setup. I have really no clue why i do not just upgrade my current main machine. I guess its more like i want to replace my weakest machines with a better machine to replace my main machine..... i guess ;)

I also apologize for my ignorance in current Gaming technology, i am getting to old to keep up with it all these days, and i know my punctuation and sentence structure is severely handicapped. LOL

I've not looked at your computer specs.

However, an i7 2600K based system will be able to 5-box Warcraft.
Not sure on the relative requirements on Rift.

You'll have plenty of Ram, for every 10 boxing, although I'd get a different processor if you were interested in 10-boxing on one machine.
A 2GB video card is plenty for 5-boxing with either DX9 or DX11; in general DX9 will use around 1GB and DX11 around 1.5GB for 5-boxing.

You can save $100 and get the GTX 670 ftw. Nearly the same performance and less $$$. Five boxes very well.
Others have reported great results from the i5-3570. If you intend to overclock get the 'K', if not get the non K. $100 dollars less there also.
The H100 may be a little bit overkill but I have no experience here (fitment may also be a problem). I would think a single radiator/fan (120mm) system would be an easier fit up without sacrificing any cooling. Although I will yield to others for this and the rest of the list.

Thanks for the input ill have a take a look at that 670 and the i5. The processor on my List should be the i7-3770K.

I double checked into the i5-3570K and didn't see that it had Hyper-threading. Would Hyper-threading have any impact on boxing (the i7-3770K has HT but is also ~$100 more)?

Im also torn on the GTX 670 vs the 680, the price difference being ~$100 as well, would the performance be impacted noticeably by stepping down?

Okay, let me see if I'm understanding this...

You're looking to replace a Sandy Bridge i7-2600K with an Ivy Bridge i7-3770K?

If that's the case, you're going to be wasting your money. You can overclock the 2600K to a higher frequency than the 3770K (more often than not), keep the temps lower, and are likely to get almost the exact same performance out of the 2600K as you would with the 3770K. Even if the performance is a little lower I can't imagine that it's even going to be noticeable. Save yourself some money and upgrade the slow HDD to an SSD (or multiple SSDs) and the old GPU to something with some horsepower.

Moving from an i7-2600K to an i5 of any current generation is going to be a downgrade no matter how you look at it. Hyper-Threading easily gives any i7 the upper-hand when being pushed hard and if you want a real upgrade you'll move to SB-E and get yourself a 6-core processor.

The 2600K has enough horsepower to multibox current generation games and your current bottleneck is likely your low-end GTX 560. You'll be saving about $1000 by not having to purchase a new case, motherboard, CPU, CPU cooler (unless you still need it for overclocking), RAM, and PSU.

Any Ivy Bridge 3770K Review

Thanks for the input MiRai, ill have to take a look at the details and see what i can figure out, especially the details with the SSDs. i have adjusted my wishlist design to have 2 250gb SSDs now instead of 1 TB SATA Drive and 1 SSD. I have also adjusted the Motherboard based on reviews and input read on the various other resources sites out there.

So, what I gather is you just want to spend $2000 on a new computer then?

Pretty much, it will let me rotate out my weakest machine to get all 5 box machines up to i7s or i5s, which also replaces my current i7 with a better machine over all (more real estate in the case to customize especially). That way i can start upgrading internals of each machine as needed. As of right now my weakest machines is just a SOHO Dell which cant take any major upgrades.

In the attached pic is my layout of my office/playroom. The Laptop on the right of the room is the bottom right monitor on my monitor mounts. The machine ill be replacing is immediately to the left of the top left most monitor.

You might not need the case, power supply, etc.
Also, components will be quite a bit cheaper in the USA than they are in Canada.
And if you're willing to build your own system, cheaper again.
