how to setup the target slot x and inner space for EQ2

so far a made a key map for the ( ` ) left of the 1 key as my assist key. it's pretty simple and sends an F2 to all of the other windows because my leader is in position two on all of the other screens.
this isn't using any of the advanced features of ISBOXER and kind of sux.

This method worked great until my main got a non-combat pet, it works out the F2->F6 keys cycle through the user and his pets. so some of my alts are targeting my non-combat pet and doing nothing and some are targeting me and helping.

as far as I can tell, I need make a macro with "/target a_characters_name" or something like that and assign that macro a key ( like hotbar 1st first slot CNTRL-1 )
then in ISBOXER setup target slot 1 as ( CNTRL-1 ), repeat for slots 2->6

is that correct or am I missing something?
