Hunter macro MOP experiment

Transcatt macro explanation


key 4/middle mouse button -- Transcatt macro--was a tranquilize and scatter macro but not renamed it

/petdefensive ---- puts pet in defensive mode,incase i have used petsafe macro which switches it to /petpassive

---- arcane shot( i have the the glyph of marked for death MOP which puts hunters mark on automatically if you use arcane shot,cobra shot etc

---- concussive shot to slow down any enemy

---- serpent sting ( i like to think mainly as a dot for rogues) but i use cobra shot so this is always refreshed on target

---- kill command great pet damage

---- widow venom to reduce to healing on the target for 30 secs if a healer or the target them selves is trying to heal back up

---- tranquilizing shot will hopefully remove a shield or buff from say a frost mage or paladin

---- cobra shot to get back some focus after kill command



/cast froststorm breath ---- mainly for my chimera..will bypass if using another pet..having it in the macro i spam..it will do froststormbreath continually

* this part may seem a bit strange for some ..as at this point,once it has finished the castsequence..the macro "locks up" and will not go back to the begining ( this happened in 4.3..not related to the mop castsequence lockups)

but it does the following...

*locked part of the macro..but can be unlocked myself by switching to my alternative kill macro..then restarting this one...

but once locked..only these fire off...(also at same time i am using a buff macro for burst damge..using dire beast,lynx rush,rapid fire,bestial wrath etc)

/cast cobra shot ---- cobra shot is now the main shot in the macro and will just cobra shot after cobra shot but will drop through to the casts below

-----BUT 1 advantage of this is..that focus is completely full ALL the time..which means during a fight,kill command is used everytime
it drops off cd...which means..instead of say having only 2 kill commands during a fight..with this..as long as the enemy is alive
kill command will always be used..which any hunter knows..is great damage from your pet..


/cast silencing shot ---- at last for us BM silencing shot for casters..this will cast when ever its off cd

/cast kill command ---- great damage and use all the time not on cd



To me its a get the most out of 1 macro i can macro..it damages,slows,dots,full focus,silence casters,lowers heals on enemy..

just a quirky macro thats a bit differant,may be useful to other hunters if they wish to have a try..you may like or you may not..but for me works great in bgs and pvp..http://www.dual-boxing.com//images/smilies/smile.png

1 First time using sony vegas and i was/did have a footage in the video of my basically explaining what i have put down in written form here,but i am at present full of fluey cold,and my voice isnt that thrilling to listen too at the best of times..so i chose just to show badbreath in action http://www.dual-boxing.com//images/smilies/smile.png

2 I'm not making any leet claims to be a great hunter,in video i twice and i do this sometimes,accidently press disengage when i am pressing keys..good job i have it on short cooldown :P

3 i should disable my walking backward key,i know its faster to run sideways..and i sometimes..fight moving backwards and forwards..even though i don't realize im doing it http://www.dual-boxing.com//images/smilies/smile.png

4 editing wise i could have cut out a couple of seconds here and there..swimming through the water etc..but the last shot..i didnt want to cut because of the tauren coming over the bridge at the end..if cut it might have seemed like a separate attack..
Also if you look at the chat box at one point i had a tell from a fellow hunter.saying how awsome the pet was where did i get it..get that alot in bgs..and i would have zoomed in on the text..if i knew how..

5 i am open to constructive cristism and advice..but plz be gentle with me,i am just having fun,and even though i'm sharing this,i know it won't be evryones cup of tea..

Here's the following I use for my Surv Hunter right now. I've only tested it on the targeting dummies but not in the field yet, let me know what you think if you do try it out as well.

Make sure you put Cobra Shot/Steady Shot first in the list or it will get hung up on the other spells if it has a cooldown. I don't cast CS as much with this one as I did with my previous setup, mostly when I don't have Focus for my other spells or no free procs to cast from LnL or TotH.

I haven't tried with Arcane Shot first, but I can later to see if that makes any difference. Judging by what is above, I'm betting this is the reason it locks up. Try to put Cobra Shot or Steady Shot first on the list. Only thing I don't like about it like this, is it does not always pop off ES when I have Lock and Load up, so those get wasted sometimes, for this you can set on a separate button and manually press along with this button. I took on Thrill of the Hunt talent so that my Focus bar stays above or around 50% most of the fight, leaving enough Focus to cast Black Arrow each cooldown.

This does seem to pop off Arcane Shot every time it comes up as a free focus dump from that talent. Black Arrow hardly got used with the Dire Beast talent for me, that however mixed into this macro did stay up every cooldown.

As I don't PvP, I did not put Widow Shot in there, but can be tested to see if it works also, with it also, might want to put it after Serpent Sting on the first macro before the ,null or apply it seperately when needed.

key Q macro -- called kill1 is really a mend pet macro..and has other things in it also..i've just left it as it is..not really important

So attacking an enemy normally i spam away at key F to start.this will do the big bursty spells like rabid,bestial wrath etc also kill command will fire off followed by blinkstrike then i will spam key E this sets off readiness and resets
the buff macro,so then i can spam key F again,then during this i will be spamming away on the transcatt macro..middle mouse button..and also switch to key E also.for some arcane shots,dire beast etc,and then repeat until enemy is dead.
they are really the only keys i need..
When we get the next talents i think i will go for glaives..instant cast,15 sec cooldown

I have been using MRrobot to sort out my gearing up,gemming etc,but as i am not yet 90,i have gone with my own mix of more crit,mastery for the time being,even though haste is the reccomended

Ive tried haste but it didnt feel right,so my present mix seems ok.but may change as i update my gear.

i use the addon fortxorcist..and they ( silencing shot,dire beast,focus fire,froststorm breath do get cast...

but it wont go back to the top unless i switch to the other macro..or switch target..then it resets..

the buff macro..is not really affected by the gcd..because after the first run through..i press readiness and it resets..so i can have on the target.

2 dire beasts pets out at the same time..and 2 lynx rush 1 after the other..then of course readiness is then on a 5 minute cool down

but i still spam it every now and then as bestial wrath will cast and dire beast,spirit beast blessing


if i get chance i'll try put up a small video..probably better to see it in action than anything :)


ps i know in the normal run of things you wouldnt want it too stick,but for me the plus side of having full focus,to be able to

kill command everytime its available in a fight,instead of maybe 2 kill commands and then no focus..is quirky and cobra shot is slower to cast..but if i can maintain some distance..and pet stays on the target..those extra kill commands..will alot of the time
take down there health to the point they change there mind and run the other way..plus if 2 dire beasts are on them too..3 pets..would make me run too.

:) forgot too froststorm breath is there because i like the chimera alot..for the frostbreath 5 sec slow..and froststorm breath

has no cooldown,so as long as i am spamming the macro its casting..and also doing aoe damage to everything within 12 yards,

and if it lyxns rushs,it goes crazy lol

First i use the burst/opening macro this uses rapid fire,bestial wrath,etc...you will see a dire beast monkey appear,then the chimera
does lynx rush...i then press the alternative macro which fires of readiness..now dire beast etc is reset..you should make out 2 monkeys..then chimera does a 2nd lynx rush..

there is a short time before i start the transcatt macro..if you watch the left side you should see serpent sting,concussive shot,widow venom etc have fired off..also watch my green health bar and the focus bar below it..

Now cobra shot becomes the main cast...focus bar is always full..until kill command fires off then refills..
so now kill command can be used whenever its off cooldown..and also serpent sting is refreshed..focus fire fires off and silencing shot will fire when they can..also dire beast will trigger when available..

not a great quality video and my sony vegas was playing up so had to use this one and it was 2 am gone in the morning,so had to use this other program with watermark..but it gives you an idea of how it works..

may drop silencing shot from the macro,even though it will sometimes cast and stop a caster spell ...it may be better to handle that manually.

Hunter macro related..

If you have Glyph of fetch,this will send your pet to loot corpses for you..

As opposed to Auto loot around you where you have to click on the body to get the loot

If you have a dead mob targeted it will cast Fetch on that target, and if not it will cast Fetch on the last thing you killed. Note you do have to be standing still during Fetch

so, correct me if im wrong, but with your pet casting froststorm breath, your DPS is cut in like.. half? maybe a bit less? because it can not do it's regular attacks while channeling that spell, right? doesnt work very well on my hunter TBH.. what am I doing wrong?
