4.3 Battleground Conquest Rewards

In patch 4.3 we’re changing the daily battleground (BG) to reward 100 conquest for a win (up from 25). In addition, every non-rated BG that you win will also give you 50 conquest. There is no limit to how many BGs you can run this way, up to the normal conquest cap.

Our intent is to start acting even more on our Mists of Pandaria philosophies of encouraging players to approach the content they want to, how they want to, and be able to work toward meaningful player progression. Arenas and rated battlegrounds will still earn Conquest faster, but with this change you can now work your way up by running normal BGs, if you so choose.

Thought it deserved its own thread since this is pretty huge. Basically removes the need to arena except for 2200 and cheesy titles and with the advent of pve bosses dropping tons of weapons now I even see the need for 2200 not needed. I guess you could do arena to raise your point cap, but this gives you the option.

glad i dont play anymore they might as well just give the epics away for free. where is the challenge? Anyone can sit in bg's all day semi afk and get good gear. awesome

T2 is not that big of a difference anyway.

make 1/4 of your customers mad all the while making the 3/4 that never arena very happy... I'd say its a good trade off.

Some Napkin math:

Assuming you cap your points every week from BGs alone, it would take you 20 weeks to fully gear. If you run 2 heroics and trade your valor -> Conq every week (or do rated bgs and never raise your weekly conq cap) it will take you 17 weeks to full gear.

Why are people mad about this? You were either already doing arena or you were only getting half the current Conq set per season.

Seems like a good move. It will get more people in a position to compete on an even playfield. And coming in half way through the season wont be a horrible disadvantage if you can't find an arena partner.

I see it as a way to entice more people to try arena / rated BGs just so they gear faster. If you look at the fact that S10 (if it ends on time) was only 21 weeks long, you're going to be "Under Geared" for 90% of the season. I think it promotes an environment of moving from BGs -> Rated PvP if nothing else than to gear faster.

Everyone can have everything...great. this is fail...
reason i do arenas is to get gear and acomplish something not everyone can get/do. And i dont even like arenas that much but i do it for the feeling i get when i reach a goal.

Gotta laugh.. blizz is heading down the wrong road with this. Atleast seen through the eyes of "over mid interested" gamers...
