Some things just work. Now me personally, I learned early on that if you're going out into areas where there are wild animals big enough to mess you up, always go armed. I think I got my first .410 at about 7 or 8 and had an honest hunting rifle (7mm Mauser) by 10. ;)

The same is true for a big ass bar fight btw.

So you would have killed the moose?

first thing i learned in WOW, stay on the roads and you're less likely to agro random mobs
