Which class should I box? (warlock or hunter?)

Hi everybody,

after having boxed 4 teams of shamans, a mageteam, one with deathknights and having tried to play a combo of 5 druids I'd like to create another team while I still have the advantage of the RAF system.
What I want to do is to get through some of the older instances (vanilla raids over bc raids to wotlk heroics) without any issues. Being able to manage getting through cataclysm heroics isn't neccesary. (but of course would be nice if it's possible)
My first thought was to play a team of 5 warlocks but I notices almost nobody boxes them? If so, why? Isn't there enough burstdamage?

What about hunters? Do you think they'll be more fun? Or even priests?

What kind of team would you prefer if you had to play them without a healer? (except for the priests of course).

I'm playing 2 lowlevel hunters now and then (using up their rested xp) and had a lot of fun in the 14-19 warsong bracket. They got some heirloom stuff only (shoulders/breast/gun and 2 daggers) and they basically one-shot every other player of that level. I know that effect from playing 5 mages but with only 2 hunters doing the same I can see some potential for a full hunter team.

On the other hand I have played a team of 4 warlocks + priest up to level 81, did almost all pre-cata instances with that team and I'd call that an interesting experience.

5 priests (well 4 because I got one highlevel already) are still on my list.

Someone in LoB boxes 5 warlocks. Full pets if you are demonology or whatever its called can be very strong and have good long range attack ability. I would guess 5 pets can tank also with little problem.

I am sure someone boxes 5 hunters but not sure of the result, there is a forum here for classes.

Priests looking good on paper as they obviously heal and some shadow are doing very high dps in raid comparisons.


Still me is liking 3mage (archane pve, fire pvp), 1protpal, 1restroshaman as the ultimate 5 man team.

If you've got RAF, I'd suggest leveling both to 60th if you can.
Or pick either one, whichever will be more fun for you and race them to 60th... then level the other as high as you can get it.

RAF is basically a time to open a lot of options for later.
You're not sure what you'll want to play in a year or two, but having lots of choices is good.
