So I finally broke 1800...

Had a few good games on Friday night, travelling nicely, cooldowns were working well, everything went responsively, even started to farm a 2100MMR team with 2 healers which felt good and tipped me up to 1810 rating.

So I logged back on last night after a long day at work and thought I would clock a few more easy points. Normally when I arena I warm up with a BG or two just to get into PvP mode. Considering my newfound success and lack of time to play much I thought I'd jump straight into a game. After a 5min wait I get a game and see 4 DKs and a pally charging across the field at me...

No worries I thought, started popping away at the pally, shield comes up almost instantly. Go to mass dispel and bam priest is dead, completely missed hitting my cooldown. DKs slowly get peeled off while healing in spirit form and finished with 1 of the enemy DKs at about 40% when I died.

I won the next won then lost the next 3 in a row. Tried targetting the DKs but the pally healing was too much and just couldn't get kills. He had better control of hungering cold than I did, and the pally seemed to be more effective in the zerg style than the priest. Thankfully he took pity on me and after wiping off 80 points of rating seemed to stop queuing.

Fun night anyway though Void, interested to see what your view of the games was and any critique of my tactics/play. Also interested to know if your pally was getting strangulated at all as I have recently setup a focus RR strangulate system and I haven't had the chance to test it much...

Void was in Skype with me while he was playing--We were both wondering who you were haha.

Unless he changed it recently, both of us use a separate spam key that rotates Hungering Cold. Four step key with each step lasting 3 seconds, each step sends Obliterate/FS to 3 DK's while the fourth DK gets a Hungering Cold-->Obliterate-->Frost Strike macro. It works wonders.

Yeah I use the same rotation you mentioned in the manifesto mosg but I don't tend to use it much. It always feels like my pressure goes down when I do use it for some reason. Interested to see whether the strangulates were firing off properly although the pally was often bubbled and immune so they may not have been landing I guess.

Sorry Daanji, no fraps from my end. Wasn't really too much chaos to be honest because we were both a lot more bunched than fighting a regular 5s team that tend to try and spread when you wade into the middle of them.

I typically Mass Death Grip + Blood Tap / Strangulate right before I do the hungercold macro.

That way, the healers are silenced for a bit and will hopefully get hungering colded.

Those shields were a bitch to beat through before you actualy took damage its hard to do anything but bubble then heal with how much dmg the dk's put out which is why i still stand by the pally healer. I dont recall not being able to heal probably because i bubbled almost instantly every game. Anyway good games i was on my toes the whole time and woulda stayed but i really wanted to get my mages leveled!

Grats on 1800. Boxer vs Boxer is always fun. Reminds me to when we faked being a boxer team a week or 2 ago in 5v5. Made a team with 4 dk and healer with my mates. All followed the same upon entering. Waited a bit, them most likely coming up on vent with a strategy to kill the boxer, and as combat begins we dg in what we could, hungering cold and start to spread out like mad each LoS behind a different pillar and picking them off one by one for a 5v0 win. Wish I could've seen their faces when they realized we were not a boxer :P
