Stopcasting in macros
Hi folks,
I'm wondering whether anyone uses stopcasting in macros in RIFT because it seems hard to use to me. I basically have a spam setup where I mash 1 and occasionally some other keys. What I would like to be able to do is to interrupt these casts when I need to cast a heal. This is particularly important on a chloro as they need to be DPSing to heal and then have some more emergency heals.
I have tried making some clickbar buttons with a macro such as:
#show Bloom
stopcasting
target tank
cast Bloom
targetlasttarget
Something similar to this works really well in WoW (or I remember it working like this last I played) and both stops the current cast and begins a new one. But in RIFT it seem to need to be pressed twice - once to stop the cast and then again to start casting the new spell. I tried separating the stopcasting from the casting into two macros and having those in two steps on a press and release mapped key but I still need to put a delay in, i.e. hold the mouse button down for about half a second or all I get is the stopcasting bit.
Anyone got this working or uses something better?

I use the same thing for all my emergency heals and dispells i just have it hit the button on press and release so its like i hit it 2 times.

Thanks for the reply cichard. It seems we have it set up the same way so I am suspecting it may be ping-related. I have tried all 3 different skill queue lengths and that certainly makes no difference for me.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who does have the same problem to try to work on nailing the cause down.

i think its rift i think they consider it a command as in using a skill so you have to do it first then click it again to use the skill ive tried loading rift up by its self and using the macro solo and i still have to press it 2 times i think its just mechanics of rift

I haven't needed the stopcasting in macros yet. I use clerics for my healing and either have them in heal mode or dps mode with a toggle button. (I had a fancy setup but found that just sending Shift+1 for DPS and Shift+2 for healing to my cleric to change the main hotbar buttons works the best.)
cichard's idea of using the button on press and release is a good idea but I also find that my buttons don't get pushed 100% of the time with that feature. It probably is ping related, I am in Australia and the ping is pretty bad. I had this setup for the Sentinel's group heal and the ability that makes it instant cast in the same macro. Unfortunately it didn't work 100% of the time with the "on press and release" option in ISboxer.

ya you may need to but a delay of a couple miliseconds on hte press and release also turn spell que off in rift.
