Dual-Boxing.com Addon #1

Hey all, I just wanted to take a moment to peddle some vaporware. I'm looking into writing an addon for our community for something I would like to see implemented - Multibox Broadcasting. Explanation follows, in story form:

I was hanging around Orgrimmar recently, making circles, conga lines, and generally entertaining a crowd. I kept getting requests to make them dance, say certain things, etc. I felt the need to make several macros and phrases to entertain the group, but it was a pain in the ass to set them all up on each computer, and obviously I couldn't leave them bound to keys and such. So I plan to get my lazy butt in gear, pick up the old Lua stick, and put together an addon that will allow multiboxers to use chat and emote functions vicariously through their alts.

This will be a rough project for me, because it requires an interface, something I have limited expertise with creating in WoW. However, I think it'll be worth it, and I think others in this community will use it. It will work much like the whisper forwarding function in Dualboxtoolkit does; in fact, I intend to include a whisper broadcast function as that's the only functionality I use in that addon. I'll keep you all posted, wish me luck. Also, I apologize for broadcasting vaporware. I promise I'll have something more tangible soon...

That's actually a pretty interesting idea, moreso if you can include premade & programmable macros to do stuff like make a smiley face out of totems ;p

Actually this should be fairly easy, check out the source for Auc-Adv it has built in Emote system in there already it may be of some assistance to your project. Once you rip that only thing left should be your UI, Chances are the Ace2 framework would be the easiest to work with and/or write it for the Fubar system.

I am also thinking of writing an addon. I was going to add a few things to it, and more as I saw fit. So far my list of 'stuff' consists of:

• Broadcast emotes
• Say a random sentence/emote (this would be on all the time, probably once every 10 minutes or so one of the toons would so something random)
• Broadcast speach (something like '/mb guild huhuhuhuhu' would make all the toons say 'huhuhuhuhu' to the guild or whatever variable is set)
• Whisper alerts, whenever a whisper is sent to a 'follow toon' the whisper would be forwarded with the senders name

That's all I can think of atm. =P

I'd love this! Anything that can be added to give the 5boxer some entertainment factor in towns would be rad!

The whisper alert is already present in Two Box Toolkit, and very handy it is too :)
