what is the fastest way to lvl with dual boxing?

I'm trying to use a dual boxing method to expedite rather than slow the progress of lvling a character from 1-60, and here are some of the options I have.

I could make a duo lvling pair. mage/priest or mage/paladin etc. they could quest grind together. the xp per mob would be lowered but the quest itself would lend the same amount of xp to both. I like this because it lends itself to having two different classes in the end, but I don't know if it would simply slow me down.

I have a lvl 60 hunter, I could run around in the same party as the new character, and lvl them up on quest exclusively. This would mean significantly more quest but the time to finish them would be exceptionally faster.

I could run the character exclusively through instances with my lvl 60. But due to his lvl and class he wouldn't be near as efficent at this as say a lvl 70 paladin which I believe is the preferred instance pwr lvler.

Is there a way I could use two accounts to my advantage for speed? An entirely different way I haven't listed?

If you want to dual box with your Hunter + another toon, quest 1-10/15 then instance grind with your Hunter as high as you can. 60 hunter should still be able to chew up SM so you can probably get to 40+ within a day+- /played or so depending how efficient you are. Then quest, using your hunter to kill everything.

If you want to duo 2 toons up then questing is probably your best bet.

As I've stated in other threads and from experience, you'll get little exp taking 1 char through instances or killing mobs with a 70, even in the lowbie tags it first. I dunno why but a single char seems to benefit not at all from this help; 2 or more chars however turns the exp tide in your favor and makes it worthwhile.

I'd go with the lvling duo and run legit 5man instances if you can; it'll be overwhelming at first trying to control yourself with others but it's good experience and best to get done early on rather than later. While soloing you can do more than asingle char can too, may get less exp per kill butyou'd be killing twice as fast to make up for it, and with less downtime/worry.

Leveling a duo will also give you a third high level character eventually. Follow a quest guide, but skip all collection quests. If you get too far behind (which I don't think will be a problem), just run to an area not in the guide and do a few levels.

Mage/paladin is a pretty fun combo I think. The paladin can tank a lot of mobs while dealing AoE damage. Run around to gather mobs, when you have enough, run back to the mage and Arcane Explode! :D

Also, the guy with the plate has the resurrection ability.

edit: You're wondering how much xp comes from questing and how much from mobs. I was fully rested and it took, I think, five or six levels to chew that up while questing. That was with three characters, so a little more group bonus. Maybe 50/50 from quests/mobs? Someone else have a better figure?

Just pick a good solo class, then think of the 2nd one as improving your solo-ability via more dps, less down time, etc.

Mage/Priest. I would use the Mage as my main, and just have the priest on follow with various assist keybinds to PW Shield, Dots, Hots, and fears.

Mage/Paladin. I enjoyed playing Pally Ret until level 30s with the mage just doing fireballs as support. Eventually, my Mage just nukes harder that being Ret was not enough, and I had to switch to Prot to manage agro.

If power level is your thing, then utilizing the Hunter will help you level faster.

If you enjoy the leveling progress challenge, then purely 2-boxing without boosting is your thing.

Instance grinding for one character is not nearly efficient as power-questing. When Im PLing just one char, I only go into instances if there's a related quest. Blasting through all the quests you would normally do, using the 70 to kill, is much faster. You'll get less xp per kill but complete the quests overall very quickly. With the leveling changes, you wont have the old problem of running out of quests.

The first 2 box characters I ran together were my 70 Druid and a lowbie Shaman. I powerleveled him to the mid 40s before soloing him. Pretty much just remember that you will need to hit every zone and quest that open up to you. Don't skip zones just because you don't like them. The quickest way to Powerlevel a newborn is to hit each and every starting and secondary starting zone for your faction.

I did Instance runs but only for the quest and maybe a second time for extra gear. I wouldn't suggest just doing instance runs along unless your secondary character has full rested, else the XP just isn't work the danger.

To me the ultimate Powerleveling comes from a Balance Druid. My moonkin was one shot killing mobs back to back using Moonfire up until the mobs go in the 30 range. This also worked for my 70 Frost Mage using Ice Lance. If you are using a class that doesn't have a powerful, spammable instance ranged attack on a short to non-existant cooldown it will slow you down. Also while using a 70 to powerlevel a lowbie the kill XP sucks major, but be sure to kill each and every mob even if you don't loot it. 10XP per kill isn't that much but if you can kill 20 of them in seconds just by spamming instants that one shot the mobs, it adds up.

Also unless you are needing to loot mobs for quest items, I would say don't bother for the most part if you have a 70 already. 70s can make plenty of gold to fun the lowbie so forget about looting trash until you get into the 30s and the chance of getting a blue drop that will actually bring in some cash goes up.
