Some toughts and achivements with my melee rift team

I started playing as 5 x Rogues, but i wasnt happy with their survivability once you get CCd to hell with fear whatnot, so i decided to go back to my first idea(inspired by mosg2) and make 4x Riftblade/Void knight/Beastmaster warriors and a healing cleric.

i have to say in rifts its alot harder to get contribution as a melee compared to just spamming Fan out as a MM rogue!
but after i got used to it it became alot easier, and the fact that damage doesnt break follow its easy to keep track of your toons.

Oh and they to EXTREEMLY well in lowlvl pvp im almost unstoppable, the spears hit for so much and with fork its just crazy fun, also melee is usefull then those pesky melee run around you!
will see how they are once i get highert up in lvl.

so i decided i wanted to try the team for a dungeon, and to my delight the team is great, the trash was no challange at all, first boss was also very simple, second boss was more tough for my all melee group, so i decided on spearing him to death which worked just fine, third boss also very simple with melee, just spam follow and heal, last boss was a simple but annoying, if you get traped with all the melee at once, its gameover, but i managed that fairly easy

now that thats done ill move on to get my ass down to Darkening deeps when i hit the lvl req

I really liked mosg2's idea when he first posted this and its great to get some feedback on it.

So you just spam the ranged attacks? there is no interact with target so im guessing actual melee is out of the question??

They're a lot of fun, I'm running a Riftblade as one of my multiclass 5 box team while questing.


Be aware that Riftblade damage scales extremely poorly post lvl 30/35, though.

You don't break follow when you melee someone. It's pretty simple--Not as easy as WoW is, but still quite simple.

would not suprise me, but i hope the survivability makes up for it, will see when i get there!

that was my original plan, now tho i actally use melee aswell, even in pvp, the fact that melee doesnt break follow is just great, and charge lets you close the distance fast, its nice, and when melee dont work, use the spears they do nice damage aswell!
