Question: 2 Wireless KB's and a KVM

Thinking of switching around my setup and looking for some input...

Current setup:
1st comp (main) and 2nd comp (4 alts w/keyclone)

I use a KVM to run 1 KB, 1 mouse and 1 monitor for both comps.

I use the KB and mouse to control the main char and use a nostromo gamepad (having been originally a dual-boxer, this setup was great) to control the 2nd comp (4 alts - broadcasting to 4 windows using keyclone).

New Setup?:
I am considering running both comps with a single wireless KB and mouse w/2 receivers (same model), but still one monitor.

Has anyone ever done this setup? I was planning to hook 1 receiver into the KVM input switch and the 2nd receiver to the 2nd computer. Will this become a mess when I switch the monitor, etc. to the 2nd comp now with two receivers setup on it? Any feedback would be helpful.

* I know getting a 2nd monitor would make this easier (eliminating the KVM), but not feasible (limited desk space) at this time.

Edit: Tried this out - didn't work using Logitech EX110 keyboard / mouse because this model, if not all Logitech keyboards, did not support "scroll lock" which most, if not all KVM switches use to switch between monitors.

Gonna head back to the store in the next couple of days to try again.

I had same issue, but my keyboard was a rather nice (but old) cherry based IBM branded keyboard. On further research I found a lot of the better quality keyboards just don't support the hotkey type KVMs (the type that switch using a key on the keyboard) I was reccomended by several people who I know in industry to either not bother (in their words get another monitor) or to spend a little more on the KVM and get one with a built in switch... To cut a long story short my cheapo KVM is now a monitor extension cable, and I have another monitor.

Thanks - I even checked Logitech's support website and found that I, along with many others, had the same problem and will "have to make do without it." (That was a quote from the Logitech moderator that pretty much pissed everyone off). The scroll lock button which most KVM switches use are simply being slowly phased out.

I did however, find a work around that turns out to be a better solution than what I was looking for. I left the main comp's wired KB connected to the KVM and installed the two receivers (USB) on both comps as well. This allows me to continue to use the wired KB on the main comp for non-boxing moments, use the wireless KB for boxing and use the scroll lock key on the main to switch the KVM. Works real well.
