Argh, need help on group

I started a Pal/Priest/Druid/Mage/Sham and it was just too freakin compliated for me.
I havent learned how to use any add ons yet or anything....... So, I think I need to keep it as simple as possible since i am learning WoW:

What do you guys reccomend for an easy group to "manage" that will allow me to do my share of instances?

I saw a Pally and 4 Shamans (I think Elementals) - Looked like fun. That a doable group still?
Maybe a Pally or Warrior for tank, priest for heals and then 3 Warlocks or 3 Mages?

I want to keep it to 3 different classes/specs max until I really learn the game and the macros etc and all the ad ons. I do not PvP and can't use DK's. Once I level these uys up I can always do it again with other classes.

Any easy group suggestions that can do a good share of instances?

If you just started i suggest going all one class. Its really complicated with 3 or more classes. I can barely manage two. So first start out with like 5 shamans (best overall class for multiboxing because you can get 20 totems) and move from there

The easiest would probably be:

1x Paladin Tank.
4x Elemental Shaman.

It is optional to have 1 of the shammies go Resto.
Wouldn't need Resto at all, outside of instances.

You could also go, 3x almost any ranged DPS.
1x dedicated healer (Holy Priest, Resto Shaman, Disc Priest, Resto Druid, Holy Pally - probably in that order).
Along with a dedicated tank (Prot Pally, Feral Druid, Blood DK, Prot Warrior - probably that order; Feral Druid will be hard till 81st as a tank, without all their tools).

With the two step DPS keys.

Make a Step 1 macro for each.
Make a Step 2 macro for each.
You won't need assist, IS Boxer does that.
Use "1" as the hotkey (or any FTL DPS Key).
The second key can be whatever you want.

Modify your FTL DPS "1" key.
Give it two steps.
First step can stay as is.
Second step, sends the "2" (or wherever you put your second macro) to all windows.

Priest, Druid or Shaman could be a dedicated healer for your mixed group.
Pally is the tank.
All the others get two-step dps macros.
You end up spamming a single key, for DPS.

There is nothing wrong with your group composition. The fact is, doing instances is more complicated than spamming 1 as you instgib your way through a train of quest mobs.

I try to keep my setup as simple as possible. The tank is the only toon i micromanage and i lead from the tank. On every toon i have four matching buttons. I use 1, 2, 9, 0.
1. Single target dps castsequence macro
2. Aoe abilities, if any (no ground targeting if you want to keep it simple), in a castsequence macro
9. Mount
0. A buff castsequence macro, if the toon can buff.

If you dont care about mana, you can heal the tank and/or entire group by matchi up short healing macros on your healer with your tanks ability buttons such as consecrate, holy wrath, avengers shield, hammer of justice, etc. The better way is to use click healing with grid/clique/gridCustomLayouts/ and repeater regions. It isnt that hard to set up and you will be infinitely more flexible since you can heal individual toons instead of either e tank OR the whole group. IMO, using TWO classes is the same level of difficulty as using five different ones. Look at the groups you proposed - none are easier than 5x the same class or more difficult than five different ones. How many toons can you really focus on? For me, its pretty much ONE so i simplify it down to where it might as well be one. When im click healing from the tank, it might as well be e tank doing the healing. When im spamming 1 or 2 as i roll through an instance, it might as well be the tank casting pyros, sending in pets, stacking up dots, and turning mobs into pincushions with daggers. It doesnt matter if there are nine other classes as long as there isnt a lot of cc or movement or gimmicky vehicle phases.

Stick with what you rolled. Its a very strong composition. You are able to use all ranged with the exception of the tank so you dont have to wrry about melee boxing. Drive from the paladin. Set up click healing - you will be so happy you did and there are posts on here about it. With your group you get

Blessing of might
Intellect from the mage
Motw from the druid
Spell crit from a boomkin or ele shaman
Wipe recovery
Combat rez
Portals
Free food
Stamina from the priest
Shadow protection from the priest

Finally, you have the best tank class and the best healing class. You have FOUR classes capable of healing Seriously, stick with what you have. Having 85 totems isnt going to make you a better boxer. Learn one thing at a time. Your group choice is solid and has great synergy. Making a gimmick or flavor of the month (or would that be years, with shamanXx?) isnt going to make it much easier.

Just SIMPLIFY. Some classes have a zillion spells and abilities. Who cares. Just use a very limited number of them and expand your castsequence macros as you get new USEFUL ones that you will use EVERY fight.

The pally shaman is and always will be a great team especially for a first timer. What level is your team currently? some of those class can be sort of hard to manage at low end levels.
I would also fair to guess this as well pally tank sham mage druid dps and priest is the healer?

Another point:

If you just started and are using RAF, level up a bunch of 5x X groups. You learn the class thoroughly that way and you'll also learn things one at a time as far as isboxer goes. Skip instances until 60 it just slows you down and this game starts at max level. Sure the journey can be fun once or twice. But not ten times back to back.

can't help ya - i only use druids for healing or cats. I could never get that eclipse gimmick working for me but other people on here say its easy with the proper castsequence. Anyway, here's my cat macro though

The learning curve may be steep at first for the team you have rolled here, but if you can get it worked out it will be smooth sailing after that.

This team also opens up lots of possibilities to expand and use more of their abilities once you get comfortable with the initial setup.

I have to agree with Ualaa

I think katsurahama's response is true in spirit - but oftentimes, it's not the boxing that is hard on newcomers, but the actual game of WoW that is overwhelming. There are a lot of mechanics to master, as well as many resources that pretty much only account for level 85.

Just try and copy any of the existing 2-step DPS macros and see how quickly your toons stand there because they don't have some level 85 ability.

Learning 5 classes in addition to learning how to box is oftentimes just too much for SOME people. Keeping it simple can help build the confidence needed to spend the time learning roles.

If you don't have the WoW knowledge, you can just pick 5 of the same class and level as well.

You can try:

5 feral cats
You can do most low level instances + learn how to use Interact With Target which helps your boxing skills. You will also learn a ton about Druids.

1 Pally + 4 Shammy

1 Pally + 3 Warlock + 1 Priest
This is a great set-up too since you will learn how to heal with your 5th character using the click repeater options or whichever way you choose to heal. If you get to the point where this set-up is "Comfortable", ANY set-up will be fairly straight forward no matter how many classes you choose. Plus you can treat 3 toons the same with the same macros, etc. Helps keep the mechanics straight forward.
