3rd mixed group

I started another group tonight. It consists of

Paladin tank
3x unholy dks (for max disease aoe)
Shaman healer

I plan to do instances with this team because im getting sick of bc quests. However! I am having trouble getting click healing to work with this team. It works on my other three teams but for some reason on this one, clicking on grid (which is underneath a repeater region) will make the shaman heal the right toon but it also makes the paladin change target to that toon. On the other groups thentank doesnt change targets, which is how i want it to work.

Anyway, theyre all still fresh 60s. I didnt get much done beyond setting up rudimentary castsequence macros on them and halfway getting click healing to work.

What i like about trying new teams is it forces me to learn to do new things. For this team i will have to learn the 'send next click' feature of isboxer for death & decay. I will also have to learn round robin casting for death grips.

Although i did very little questing with this group so far, i continue to believe shaman are the worst healers. No hots except some crappy totem. Earth shield is basically a smart hot but it can only be cast on one target. I would have had the paladin heal but i figured it would be simpler to have all three dks be the same spec. I guess they could all be blood...

I may end up switching this group to

You haven't got riptide yet, last talent in resto tree.

They also have healing rain @ lvl 85? which is an AOE heal.

However I wouldn't like to rely on a shaman to have to regularly heal more than just the tank.

For me earthshield + riptide on the tank is enough for trash and some bosses. However i'm using 3 x ele shaman, so I get multiple healing stream totems to help counter minor damage as well.

I really find chain heal crap, I have all four shaman cast it in an emergency.. but still find it lacks.

I'm going to speculate because I haven't tried this.

By default clicking on a player in the 'grid' will select them. So I assume you need to disable this.. this could be either the grid settings, or possibly using clique at a guess? I'm not sure though.

Go into the repeater regions.
You might need to delete your existing repeater region and make a new one.

The changes you want, are to have the healer/healers in an Action Target Group.
And to use that ATG as the target of the repeater action.
So the clicks and such only broadcast/repeat to the healer.
Then ensure you have KVM mode checked, which blocks the click for the local client.

If the local client is a healer, they receive the click via the Repeater Region.
If the local client is the tank, they don't receive the click because they're not in the ATG and because of KVM they don't get the local click either.

This team is 61/62 now. When i need to go to sleep, i keep telling myself Lets just do this one more thing, which is a sign the group is fun to play. The unholy dks chew through instance packs like crazy. The paladin was raf'd up so its half naked. The dks grab aggro toward the end of a boss fight so aggro bounces around but at least they all wear plate. I runmthem in frost presence. Since they seem to be great in instnces i will probably level them primrily that way. Of course ive only done hellfire ramparts so far. I still dont like the shaman healer but i will keep it to force myself to learn how to heal with one. It wasnt raf'd up so it has level appropriate quest gear. Once all four melee start taking damage, thats when the shaman reaaly sucks. If only the paladin is taking damage it heals fine. Unless i have a huge pack on me then i have to use WoG on myself to stay up. So, basically i really dislike the shaman's healing capability. Hopefully it improves as i level up. From what several people have said, that will happen.

If i run into a boss i cant down but need for a quest i might have to heal with the paladin and run the dks as blood. So id have two healers and three tanks in that scenario. I wish i had another priest on the shaman account. :o

My grid / repeater region problem was leaving the default clique binds on the paladin. I have tanks AND healers in my click heal atg because i use the tanks rescue abilities, if any, through clique. I had block local click enabled but clique was the issue. Thanks dancook and Ualaa.

Team is 62 / 63 now. Completed blood furnace with no deaths. Shaman continues sucking for mass healing, such as when those mines go off in blood furnace or engineers start lobbing dynamite. Hard to avoid that when my team is 80% melee. Still a lot of fun. Out of rest bonus now though so i have to move on to another team. This team will all be 63+ before i get out of hellfire peninsula!

I still need to set up Send Next Click for death n decay.

How does the send next click dnd work?

So far i've only been using it to scout out rogues and doing it manually.

I havent set it up yet. I started looking at it last night but never finished. I need to incorporate setting the camera to a particular view at the same time since iwt messes up the view angle pretty often.

I set up the targeted aoe on the dks. I followed ualaa's excellent guide. There is a section about how to do it. I tried it myself but ended up just copying the example already set up in isboxer into my own atg and changing the key. It works great.

Team is 63/64 now. Out of rest bonus so on to another one.
