Zero(?) City Lag - 5 Clients One PC - Your Specs?

I have a Q6600, 4gb Ram and once upon a time this was fine! But now things have changed and hanging around the AH in Stormwind can cause some laggy issues.

Could I get an idea of people's specs and how much lag they get around City AH? Just so i know what to expect from various upgrades.

That's really bordering on "Not optimal" these days.

The engine for WoW hasn't had much change, but with a Q6600 and the amount of people that are running around the cities, it's a lot to process.

What are your in game settings?

In SW, I have a fair bit of lag, and some FPS drop. Albeit, my internet is terrible.

My system is:
AMD 965 BE OC'ed to 3.85Ghz
ATI 5870 GPU
8GB RAM

And I sometimes get choppy in the city.

I usually have high/ultra on main and poor/fair on the slaves. This has been fine for instances and outside of cities.

It doesn't make a huge difference unless i try and run all on high or something :)

had the same specs, and was starting to see some lag. New GFX were some but the textures were a lot of it. New CPU and 8 + gigs are the new basic boxing machine.

I have the new graphics card, so I guess i'm looking at an i7 950 with 12gb ram? and I should be smooth as a baby's bottom?

It's also raiding, where it matters, than I'm getting sluggish framerates.

I already have SSD.

Uhhh...

Besides the fact that P67 boards just got recalled because of a defect [there's a thread about it in this same forum], the 1155
chipset does not use triple channel RAM. I'm also curious as to why you are going to spend $70+ on a CPU cooler when that
money probably could have gone towards a nice 570 GTX? :)

I was going to overclock - and thought a decent cooler would be needed. Also i hadn't planned on buying any more hardware, I only just changed my mind :)

I didn't realise about the triple channel only with i7 950 etc then?

Also I see the recall didn't affect all motherboards, and some sources suggested it's no reason to put you off buying it - but then i suppose some might say that, depending on what you had to gain :)

12 gigs ram
580 GTX Video card
256 gig SSD Corsair drive

I get 60 fps in stormwind. When I had a HD5870 video card, I was getting like 20 FPS in stormwind.

You're right, if I really wanted to buy a new system now I wouldn't let that recall affect me. It would also really suck if it
somehow affected me later down the road. Also, triple channel RAM is currently only used on 1366 chipsets.
