I have an ATI 4850x2 video card right now. Sometimes in congested areas I am getting really bad lag and I am thinking of upgrading. Can anyone tell me the best card to upgrade to? My budget limit is $350. I was looking at the following cards.
GeForce GTX 480
GeForce GTX 570
ATI HD6970
I would lean toward the 570 based on this.
The 570 gives about the same performance as the 480, but is newer (e.g. should run cooler, less power/noise)
Note that I'm assuming you're just concerned with performance in WoW, which seems to favor Nvidia and Intel.
I just upgraded from a 4870 to a 6970 and the difference is huge. The resolution on my slaves went from poor to good and the main screen is on Ultra with shadows reduced down.
I can't speak for how much different the 6970 is to the other cards though.
