Healer to DPS ratios

Alert!!! Speculation thread!!! No pointing out the obvious that we don't know for sure!!!!!

Since healing is being nerfed, I'm curious how well the famed 1 healer healing 4 dps will work compared to Wrath. Considering the possibility that non-healers will suck, I'm not sure if the classic combos will work, or if more healers per dps will be needed.

Also, If healing for DPS classes goes way down, wondering what other good caster teams would be effective. I never really liked classes that relied heavily on random proc Haste abilities, which kinda knocked boomkins off the list. How much do hunters rely on random proc haste abilities? Having all my cast bars in sync is kind of important for me.

Thoughts?

H= Healer
D= DPS

With the 1H:4D, we get:
- almost maximum amount of burst (5D, being better)
- high sustained DPS
- to play compositions which are familiar

With a 2H:3D, we get:
- twice the healing power.
- greater potential in wars of attrition



Which healers have the greatest ability to assist DPS in killing?
- a resto shaman has most of the spells, but is lacking in talents.
- a resto druid has unlimited Wrath, with Starfire procs; all the balance dots.
- a disc priest has penance, both dots, mana burn, smite-healing; two schools of magic.
- a holy paladin, can be a shockadin.

Would two of the same (for ease of play) or two different choices (for versatility) be a better option?
Will some healing classes complement your composition more then others?

I'm going to be leveling holy paladin/4 shaman

4 shaman can full heal with 1 chain heal right now in decent gear it seems if your macro is done correctly.

The only reason i opt for the healer is for those emergencies where i'm going to need some AOE healing or something... the new cone heal + healings hands works well, and holy shock is great as well.

I will prob either run holy pally/4x dks or resto shammy/holy/3 dks... we'll see when that time comes.

I like a Holy Pally with the Shammies.
You have the option of dual spec'ing for a tank option.

And that opens up dungeon finder, since a shammy could queue as resto.
